Pit Grunt,
I don't think things will be frozen up solid yet but I see nothing from keeping a guy or gal from putting on some miles!

Not sure. The SNOWFALL/COVER 'Tab' gives me the same info., 24-hour accumulation ending 2017-03-30 12 UTC. The 'Tab' seems to just be some kind of link to a NOAA product. It will probably be updated or update itself, still kind of early in the season.

I'm relatively new at using the John Dee website - just started last year. When do the snowfall total maps get updated? When I visit that area of the site it says they were last updated 3/30/17. Thanks.

Yes, it's kinda disappointing/depressing to see all the cam owners' indifference (incompetence?) with maintaining their equipment!

Yes, not many cams working at all. I don't think one out of the six Lake Gogebic cams have worked yet.

Thanks guys. When I'm seeing these pictures of incredible trails, are they taken on GROOMED trails? Or are you just blazing your own trails? I thought most people waited for groomed trails to open up before putting on any serious miles.

That's exactly right UP RIDER. As far as a web cam goes we already have it installed. It will be live after the 1st of the year. I wish it was sooner but it's out of my hands. We have a new Website coming through a new provider and once that change is made it will be live and I promise we will do the necessary maintenance to keep it up and running. Thanks for your patience. If we weren't changing providers (which wasn't our choice), it would be live right now. Still snowing good by the way!

Oh boy... We just switched providers this summer and as the I.T. guy around here (not that I am qualified by anymeans... Just the only one with ANY computer experience...) I hope it goes better for you guys than us. Almost 10 days after the switch before everything was talking again. Printers, parts programs, parts orders, credit card machine... Took alot of whiskey. As my one bud said his 5 pound hammer is his "computer wrench"... LOL

If one was planning a day trip is there anyone or anywhere in that area that would allow someone to park a truck and trailer to drop sleds?

The Houghton county fair grounds in Hancock has parking right off of the Hancock / Calumet Trail. When I called the local visitors bureau that's where they directed me to park at.
