I've always like the down hill ski racing. Amazing the speed 80-90 mph...and wipeouts. The ski-jumping is always interesting also.

I like the hockey, downhill sking, ski jumping, speed skating and the curling, we have a couple of local girls that my daughter went to school with on the womens hockey team so that will be interesting. Also a couple of guys that played college hockey here, 1 on the US team and 1 on the Canadian team. We had the world mens curling tournament here a couple of years ago and the Canadians came down in droves to watch it. I think it is Canadas most popular drinking game.

The women you are talking about, were those the ones in the sports illustrated artical? Great story, has anyone else read it?

They have to be proud parents to raise the kids through some tough times. Even with the downfalls that they encountered, they are all truly champions.

I can't wait to see the curling - especially since one of the guys is from the club I curl at in St. Paul MN. I've been curling for 5+ years now and I would liken it more to chess on ice than anything else - there is a LOT of strategy involved in the game.

Might not be any snow for the games, they are facing the same problem that we are. There hills for the jumps look more like mole hills.

Hockey--Joe Pavelski, a local boy from here in Central Wisconsin, now playing for the San Jose Sharks, is a member of the Olympic team. Graduated from Stevens Point High School. I will be watching closely, as I'm sure many from our area will. I love the Olympics!!
