NEWS RELEASE/ PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

RE: Termination of the Wolf River State Trail MOU
Per Langlade County Board Resolution 42-2025 adopted on December 22, 2025, Langlade County
will be terminating the cooperative management agreement between the County and the
Department of Natural Resources for management of the Wolf River State Trail on April 1, 2026.
The termination of the cooperative management agreement will return all trail operations,
management and planning responsibility for the Wolf River State Trail to the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources effective April 2, 2026.
After termination of the cooperative management agreement Langlade County will not be issuing or
accepting applications for personal mobility device permits (PMDPs) for the trail. Individuals
seeking PMDPs, or with any questions regarding the Wolf River State Trail should contact Mike
Duke, Recreation Liaison, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at
douglas.duke@wisconsin.gov or (920) 366-1875.
