Wondering about Minnesota conditions

I'm heading to North Shore over xmas break. I've never been before and with 2 teenage sons, thought maybe less traffic and a little safer over the holidays. I'm looking forward to it. Staying near Beaver Bay, any help or additional info PM me. Sounds like a lot of buffalo talk going on in this thread. lol.

You will be well to the north of the Buffalo Bar!

1. If staying in Beaver Bay, a good day run would be up to the Trestle Inn and back for Lunch.
2. Be sure to check out the trails between Silver Bay and Finland in Teteguche, lots of great scenery through that area. The MooseWalk trails on the other side of the State Trail can be really fun also, couple neat look outs.
3. Another fun run would be up to Isabella on the Yukon, be sure to run up the JAB lookout as you go by.

If you are going for big mile days, the loop through Trestle Inn, over to Isabella, and back on the Yukon can be done.

There are other trails and destinations you can make, but these would be three of my top choices.

Welcome! People are nice here so don't hesitate to ask questions. The north shore is popular so trails are well marked, but I have noticed that MN does not do nearly as well as Northern Wisconsin (Vilas cty area). I like adventure riding and getting a little lost, but just make sure to study your maps well.

For sure don't miss the Trestle also its one of the few places for gas.

Finland, Trestle Inn (Crooked Lake Resort actually), Knotted Pine in Isabella, as well as Silver Bay have gas in this little triangle of trails. If you run the Yukon, be sure to fill up on either end.
