2002 Indy 500 liquid. Have a problem with sometimes not starting. It is getting fuel. Sometimes i have to drain the motor because of trying to pull it so many times. It ran good, then one morning it would not start. Pulled and pulled and drained the motor and changed the plugs and finally it started. Rode and started great all day. Now i am getting ready to store it and the darn thing is doing it again!!! Could it be a weak coil? I really don't know where to start. any help would be great.

Is it unusually warm outside when you are doing this? If so, turn your air screw on each carb (Mikuni?) out 1/2 turn to let a little more air in when it's warm.

I don't know if you have a Fuji liquid but my kids 98 500 liquid (Fuji) would be very hard to start at temps above 25F, and near impossible to start above 40F when the air screws were at stock 1 turn out. Another 1/2 turn out did the trick.

If you are having to drain the crankcase it is the needle and seats or a bad fuel pump diaphram. Pull the vacuume hose off the crankcase that goes to the fuel pump, if you can draw gas through it, its the fuel pump.
