We are looking for a fall trail maintenance/winter ski trail groomer starting in September. This ad will be removed when the position is filled. Employer is the City of Hancock. Hard physical work, pays around $11/hr with no benefits. (Sorry - not negotiable.) Must already be a XC skier and safe operators is a must. Must be able to lift & move HEAVY machinery, operate various trail brushing tools and snow grooming implements or can be trained to do so. Weekly hours between 0 and 40 (35+ is about average). All tools will be supplied, plus a $300 clothing allowance will be paid in the spring (if you stay on). In the fall this job entails clearing brush from the trails when they are dry and repairing bridges; in the winter months, trail grooming when it snows. This position is not compatible with a student's schedule or as a second job because we work at all hours and occasionally long days. A second job is only ok if you are available to groom at any time, with short notice. Must have a valid driver license and your own dependable transportation to Hancock. Not recommended to anyone who resides further than 12 miles out of town. Experience with operating ATV's, UTV's, skid-steer, farm machinery or construction equipment is helpful.
