I keep hearing rumors that Cat will be adding yamaha engines to their line-up, and dropping suzuki in the near future..true or not I find it very interesting.
Will cat build their own snowmobile engines??? I think they would do better getting somebody like yamaha to supply their engines.

Know this...cat and yamaha have both tested new models side by side each spring in Thompsen Manitoba...for many years. And many of you know both cat and yamaha also test new models in the keweenaw all winter long.

The thing to think about is....maybe yamaha is getting out the sled business, and will just supply engines to arctic cat...don't know but it makes sense.

Cat makes very good riding and handling sleds...yamaha's biggest fault is their ride and handling (really shock/spring calibration..the guy who handles that should have been fired 10 years ago). Put a yamaha 4 stroke or a HPDI two stroke (yamaha outboards have HPDI two stroke motors), in a cat, and I'd order one tomorrow!!!!

cat is moving motor dept to TRF 2014.....MADE IN MN BY MINNESOTANS......

Do you think that inspires confidence for people who ride polaris, yamaha or ski-doo?? Do you think they will switch brands because the engines are made in minnesota??? Just askin...lol

I'm a Yamaha, Arctic Cat and Suzuki dealer and have heard nothing as crazy as this yet. I wouldn't put much thought into this. Have heard nothing about Suzuki selling out either. Why would AC switch engine builders when they've worked w/Suzuki for so long and at the present time probably have the most reliable 2 stroke motor on the market(from my experience over the last 4 years). Cat has already announced they will be building there own motors in the future.
