Yamaha viper/Cat 700/Yamacat - mileage

Not as far as the XTX is concerned......only seeing around 14.5 but that is running a 141x1.6" track plus a couple performance "goodies".........plus I catch a LOT more air(meaning when riding, not jumping etc.) than the average rider........big guy & I wear a TekVest..........
That is a good question I guess but the Viper & Apex riders I ride with don't discuss mpg no one is on a Vector that I know, a Venture yes, all about the same 15/16 mpg ripping it last I checked. One rider on Apex SE on club rides was getting in the upper teens maybe 20 mpg but they never go over 45mph all day. The new Vector drive by wire might be blowing mpg away many improvements on that engine but never saw a Vector get less than 18mpg in the past.

15ish on a 2015 Viper STX DX, with a 141 x 1.75 backcountry track. Not so happy about mileage, but really starting to like the sled. About 800 miles on it so far this winter. Hoping it will continue to loosen up with more mileage.
It will......takes roughly twice that.........

I have a 2015 LTX LE 137 with a inch and 3/4 track average 13-14 miles a gallon and have 6200 miles on it now. Think the motor is broke in?

We're seeing 14 here at Pat's from customers and the turbo is 13

Yes the Nytro is in the same mpg ballpark ...These Yamaha 3 and 4 cylinder 4 strokes all make power at about the same efficiency....in general, cruise below 60 and get 15 mpg on up.....over 60 and WOT occasionally and get under 15 mpg.
Putting the Yamaha 1049 in a Cat chassis didn't create any sort a high mpg miracle.
My carbed 973 gave me the best at 16-17 mpg.
Never saw 20 mpg on any of my Yammies. Could probly be achieved on hard flat trails at slower cruising speeds and no WOT.

I had a 2009 Nytro is did always get 15-16 mpg but the Nytro is an sled you love or hate. Rode with a Apex a few weeks ago and he always got better mpg then I did. The Viper is very comfortable for me and over 6000 trouble free miles

I have never worried about Gas mileage on any of the Sleds I've owned, If that stops you from buying a Snowmobile , time to get out the Hobby.

I can say when I owned a 2008 Skidoo 597 GSX, I always put about 2 gallons less then my buddies Arctic Cat 600 and Skidoo 800 Sleds.

Yeah mpg has always been a range question for me not a cost issue. Most of the time I don't look at price per gallon just insert card & fill up. With the marketing of the doo Ace there is a a sled for those that care about gas costs. Nothing wrong being concerned with mpg just not part of my fun factor determination for buying a sled. I need to know range per tank that's it.

Speaking of fun factor. after 100 miles between stops, the Poo AXYS 800 HO is within a 2/10 gallon either way with the 2012 Apex that follows me around. 14 to 15 mpg

Whitedust yes it is important to know how far you can go , but as we all know depends on the what trails your riding railroad beds ( high Speed ) vs trails ( medium speed )
My 2011 ETEC get's always take a little less gas also then my buddy's 2010 F8, I try to fill up every 100 miles and it usually takes around 7 or 8 gallons. which comes to 14.2 to 12.5 and I have a heavy hand on the throttle.
Only ran out once when it was new at about 110 miles , the gas guage have never been real accurate.
