Are you burping that E-Tec when you fill up the tank?

Sometimes, can get an extra gallon in then.

I had my gas gauge fixed once as it was stuck on empty , then after burping for one season it quit working again, so after it was fixed , I try not to do that.

2015 XTX ran between 12-14.5. As others mentioned, wot it will go down. Using 87 octane is a perk. If I ran below 60 my buddies Apex XTX would equal this and a friends Vector would be slightly better. My Renegade 1200 is in this same ballpark but has a higher top end. The Viper with the deeper lugs seems to float off trail.

WOW 2 honest posts about a doo etec and 1200 mpg...LOL...the cult will get you for this infraction!!!!

I'm sure someone on here rides with buds that get 18-20 consistently no matter the conditions or speed!!!!

Whitedust yes it is important to know how far you can go , but as we all know depends on the what trails your riding railroad beds ( high Speed ) vs trails ( medium speed )

My 2011 ETEC get's always take a little less gas also then my buddy's 2010 F8, I try to fill up every 100 miles and it usually takes around 7 or 8 gallons. which comes to 14.2 to 12.5 and I have a heavy hand on the throttle. ;)

Only ran out once when it was new at about 110 miles , the gas guage have never been real accurate.

If you find me on a grade for that long to measure mpg difference between grades & twistys just shoot me now I don't want know!..LOL :) Grades are simple connectors for me & has to be the only way to next twisty or FR trail otherwise I would not be on it. For me grades are haul balls time get it the heck over with so boring. Yes it is fun to go fast in a straight line but no fun for me for more than 15 -20 minutes at a time. I didn't buy an Apex XTX with eps to do that!

well, the 1200 did get 18 when I first got it 5 yrs ago. I will guess I am not afraid of the throttle like when I switched to a four stroke. 😬

1200's we ride with are at 15, but have seen 18 at a steady 60/70 mph cruising day. 800 e-tech's 14 to 18 mpg depending on how they use the flipper. My best riding bud gets 20 to 22 mpg at 60/70 cruise with 600 e-teck 137 skid.

I just got back from the U.P. yesterday, I was checking mileage all week long on my 2014 Yamacat. Conditions varied from warm/slushy to cold/firm, but it most of the time I was right at 14.5mpg, although I did see as high as 16.9mpg.

I have never worried about Gas mileage on any of the Sleds I've owned, If that stops you from buying a Snowmobile , time to get out the Hobby.

just my 2 Cents.

I can say when I owned a 2008 Skidoo 597 GSX, I always put about 2 gallons less then my buddies Arctic Cat 600 and Skidoo 800 Sleds.

Yeah, I'm thinking more about range. Seems like the 4 strokes don't pay off in MPG's but instead of longevity and fewer headaches

Don't forget when you compare the Viper to an Apex or Vector they have 2 different EFI systems on them. Vipers all run Arctic Cat system.
