On lake nokomis .......and there are 5 more near the old mistletoe bar/ fishbones (about 75 to 100 yards off shore.)

Ice fishermen I talked to said 4-6 inches in the bays.

Yikes. I saw an ice shack about 9 days ago on the St. Louis River just outside Duluth. I also saw one on St. Louis Bay on Friday. It gave me the heebie-jeebies.

There was a report that Lake of the Woods had 4-7" of ice (in some bays) last Tuesday (cool pic):

Yeah...I don't like to trust Ice Fishmen...lol.....but if nothing else...it's an early start to the season...and that is a good thing...it would be nice if the ice was 12-14 inches thick by xmas....and hopefully we'll have good snow

Just an update.....one of the shacks over by mistletoe went in this morning.... thus why I don't trust ice fishermen.... BTW...the Wisconsin river in town is still open....we do have snow...around 4 inches last night...on top of the 2-3 we had on the ground...I love this start to the season...but we need good ice first.
