I was having a discussion with some friends at The Buckhorn earlier this evening about the a$$hole.....guy just down from us chimed in "well if you didn't break the law there wouldn't be any ticket".......I tried to explain that there is no MI law regarding occupancy but he was adamant that there was......I finally chose to ignore this new idiot.......after he left I found out he's a neighbor of the bu++hole.......birds of a feather?

Yeah, there is " MI No Law " for how many passengers on a sled.
And Manf are not going to put a sticker on what is legal. Only what its built for.
Unlike boats for weight or multi persons

One person sled
Two person sled.

Pretty definitive.

I believe I would've wanted that ticket up right in front of him and put it in my backpack, (no littering), then threw it in the nearest garbage can. Then after a couple months of me not paying it they come knocking it turns into a fairly large federal case, it's going to get a lot of publicity. A lot of outcry a lot of public support. The government is constantly overreaching everywhere they can, and we don't have to put up with it. It's one thing if you've done something blatantly an outright illegal but a ticket for that is absolute BS.

There may possibly be some decent news in our immediate future regarding the USFS arsehole........local rumor has it he may not be around here much longer.......supposedly his immediate supervisor out of Escanaba has already been terminated in part due to some of his shenanigans......even his own brother has described him to some locals as a "loose cannon"........you got to wonder how the federal government let someone this mentally unbalanced to carry a lethal firearm????

That would be awesome if he gets da boot. But who is his brother that everyone keeps talking about?? This guy is not from this area. He used to be a border patrol agent that got sent up here due to some questionable behavior.. Some stories get so twisted that the truth is hidden. He is not working with local state troopers either as they have had enough of his **** just as we have. They are tired of having to waste their time going out to his "scenes".

Ditto Alger county.........funny how every time he calls for backup they are all conveniently "busy"

Haha I'd try it!

Haven't seen him there...and hope I don't.

Lethal firearm? Is there another kind?

Lethal firearm? Is there another kind?

I was wondering the same thing.....still, I would add the modifier "potentially". Whether it is lethal or not is largely dependent on the intent of the user.

Sorry to get off-topic. I talked to somebody this past weekend who lives in Munising and verified all that everybody here has said about this jackwagon. Sounds like we'd be better off if the USFS shipped him somewhere else. Let's hope that's the case!

I just found out that the Federal Public Defender's Office may be able to represent anyone who chooses to fight tickets issued by Officer Cote, U.S. Forrest Service Officer. The tickets are classified as petty offenses, and the district court sets pretrial days once every three months to process them. If you get a ticket from Officer Cote, please call 906-226-3050, which is the Marquette Office of the Federal Public Defender's Office. Regardless of your income level, they may be able to represent you. Pass the word to anyone you know who gets the tickets.

I've also heard the US Attorney's assistants have dismissed a lot of his tickets when people have challenged them.
