Wondering if anyone from WI that will be coming to the Mass City area would be willing to stop and pick up some good 12-15 yr old cheese to drop off here in Mass City?

We are craving some good home made mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwich that are best made with this stuff.

Thanks!

Matt

Matt, I drive all the way through Wisconsin on the way to Mass. We will be coming up on Friday. I am not much of cheese connoisseur so you will have to be specific as to what you want me to pick up. Is there a particular store you want it from or any store will do?

Andy-

Boy, that would be great! Any old store is fine, most likely it will need to be a cheese store as I dont think many groceries will have it. Anything 10-15 yr old will be super, dont get sticker shock, it will most likely be around $15 per pound. If it isnt too much trouble, I would take 2lbs.

Thanks!!

firecatguy, have you been to Matt's? I always thought those were everywhere. Didn't even know that it was a local thing until recently.

thebluff, pm me if you do not get any old cheese. We are heading through your area mid week. We drive by a couple of cheese stores along US 2 in cheeseland.

As a kid, a friend owned a resort in Howard Lake MN. Timbers. They made a "Juicy Lucy". I couldn't get Firecat's links to work for me (dang firewall here at work), but their Juicy Lucy was a 1/2 burger, with cheese (and onions if you wanted) in the middle of the giant fat burger, and then it was cooked on the grill. Took a little longer but they were awesome! That was back in 1984, and I think they had been serving them for 10 or 15 years before that. Wish I could get one of those again....

Oh, and Matt (thebluff), want to say thank you for the stay last weekend. We loved the place! Hopefully we didn't make the guys upstairs too mad on Thursday night, we were up pretty late and maybe a little loud. But no one came down to ask us to quiet up. Which we would have gladly done. Wish the snow would have been a little better, but we still made a good time of it! We'll be back soon!!!!

Stop it!!!!!!

I just finished lunch and you're all making me hungry again.

Good cheese can be better than sex...

Since we are here. Start listing the hot spots. I'll start:

Ellsworth and Christie - Cheese curds
Comstock - Muenster cheese
Burnett - Alot of different local cheese
Spring Valley (not sure) - One of the last long horn Colby plants in the US. Ellsworth carries it in their store.
