it seems like sled talk has taken a back seat to, my wife is mad, purddy leaves, snowblowers, and cute puppy names.... what happened?

its fall, posts titles should be "why is my thumb twitching" "what should i buy poo or doo?" "I rode my sled around the yard cause I COULDNT WAIT!" "just put a turbo in my 86 phazer!" "I just covered my yard in snow using a my wood chipper and 200lbs if ice!...lets ride!" "sea and snow ROCKS!"

COME ON LETS GO, ITS GAME TIME!!

I used to think snowmobiles 12 months a year, but since Ive gotten older Ive got a bunch of other great stuff going on in my life. I now always start my snowmobile season this weekend, the Milwaukee Snow Show weekend. So officially, for me the season has begun! Cat600 is right though, two more months before I'm riding. But I agree, lets talk some sledding! This is the weekend I usually take my sled for a rip across the yard, cant wait for daylight!

I agree.
I am new to this site. Refered by a friend.
I think this site is awesome. I can't wait to start talking sleds.
I have not had a sled for many years. Kids were small and I plowed snow for a living. No more big snow plowing and kids are older and want to ride.
I picked up a 2010 Skidoo this fall and now we are ready. My son has a old ZX chassis MXZ with lots of miles. We may upgrade that before long.
Many years ago, friends and I went to Munising in early December. Might try that same trip with kids this year if there is enough snow in December.
I feel 20 years younger when talking snowmobiles and enjoy reading all your posts.

Thanks,
We have done a lot of camping and summer traveling over the past few years. I am a moderator on an RV site. Seem to be a "Forum" junkie. lol.
Now I have been reading stuff here everyday as well. My friend who refered me said I won't be able to keep up come winter with all the daily content here.
Can't wait

I think we'll see more snowmobile talk now that the Snow Shows have begun. People will start pulling their machines out of storage needing upgrades, repairs, etc. The first snow flurries up north will be spotted and someone will start a thread on here about the best oil or carbides to use.

I'm making some upgrades on the trailer while it's still warm out, I hate working outdoors with cold fingers, though if that's the case then that means it's cold enough to snow. And that's a good thing, right?

Ditto on welcome azandy and welcome back to the sport!

Once the snow starts flying (which my brother tells me has just happened in northern MN), I agree that there will be a definite re-focusing of the thread content. This is the time of the year I start getting serious about preparation and thinking more about the coming season, in fact I started one of mine yesterday just to take a few good snorts of 2 smoke.

I do have to say that I enjoy the variety of the threads on this site in the off season. I think this site is unique in that people are able to share thoughts, stories, opinions etc. on many different subjects without being pummeled with ridicule or criticism. I feel that I've actually gotten to know people better through their postings on non-sledding subjects.

All this being said, since Lenny fired the first volley. I'l post some incentive (some of which I may have posted before). This does get the juices flowing for me!

Good question Tomk, I see you have 37 thread starts and 99% are sled related, Excellent. But we do tend to burn out some topics such as Oil brands, 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke, etc. And we have some tight rules on what we can discuss and to what extent. (which we need). Nothing wrong with topics that are non sledding, I personally have met many very fine folks in here through the other topics such as the Motorcycle section, Boating/fishing section, off topic ramblings, etc. JDee site is what you make it. (within the rules). I for one am always open for a new twist or angle on snowmobiling so Tomk keep the topics coming. And Welcome neewbie, from my cabin to yours!

Well I took my sled out of the trailerlast week to do maintenance on it. I decided one trip around the 2 acre lot was not enough so I did another one - there was more grass that needed to be de-thatched!! I am looking forward to loading it back in to the trailer so I have another excuse to make a few more trips around the yard!!

I was trying to get the adsense thing going but you ruined it! Don't make me go Victoria's Secrets on you again!
Sorry, I did aquire 3 1/2 gallons from sledheaddude800 for a fantastic price, so now I am Poo oil guy (until that is gone). Then back to the big A (Interceptor oil), dealer said I will not void warranty and that's what I wanted to hear. Got the 4 year bumper to bumper Poo Star warranty as usual.

This weekend I put the boat away, closed the pool, and picked up the sleds from the dealer for the pre-season check up. Time to replace breaks on the trailer and other minor maintenance and I am ready. Looking for a cabin to rent over Christmas so hopefully we will have some good snow by then.

I would suspect the end of the month we will be talking about oil again...
