Holy crap does that suck!!! AND WHILE YOU WERE IN THERE!!!! That is even scarier. Hope the owner reimburses you guys, or the insurance does.

any stranger or person you just met or you were talking to at the bar that you may have inadvertently told what kinda gear you carry? anyone you talk to at the bar that may have seemed overly interested in your eqpuipment?

We were at the bar drinking our fare share of beers, so I was sleeping pretty soundly......lol

I talked to a bunch of good looking girls in the downtowner that were interested in my "equipment" but I doubt they stole our gear.....lol

But we did explore that option.

malfunctioning lock?? who goes around checking doors to see if a lock is not working properly in a hotel?? sounds like an inside job if you aske me..............

I was thinking the same thing. Someone had to purposely break the lock or know it wasn't functioning properly to do this. I still can't believe they did it while you were sleeping................

x2........IMHO

Insurance should pay if you have all purchasing receites. At least that is how I read my policy. Thanks for the info. You got me thinking about the As%holes. I agree with the previous poster... this was an inside job!

breeze, if it is any consolation, you should have coverage for this under your Homeowners insurance. Yes, it would be subject to your deductible, but at least you could recoupe some of your loss. I don't believe that the Hotel will be able to help you regarding reimbursement under their insurance as the items taken were not in their care, custody or controll. More over, most Hotels & Motels have a disclaimer for stolen items, even those that are in the rooms safe. I hope the sob's get caught though, good luck.-Mezz

Wouldn't this hotel have cameras at the entrances? And possibly over lookin the parking lot to see if anyone suspicious was around?

Did you tell them what room you where in or take them back with ya.There could be more to this story.Or did they have a pissed off boy friend lurking or one just watching setting you guys up.

One nite in Hotel, I woke up to the light of door opening, then closing. I went into battle mode but they didnt come in the room. Dumb me, we go back to sleep only to find out at the front desk in the morn an ex employee had a master key and was looking for an empty room. And manager knew about it I guess from other attempts on other nights.
For those of us that awaken easy, yeah its hard to believe someone would not wake up. But my GF can sleep thru anything. In just a matter of seconds she can be in a coma like state and will not wake up, even if I'm trying to wake her up off the couch. Really.

I think they put something in your drinks, and followed you to the room.
Wife said you should get blood tested for traces of drug. Might be too late though.
That sucks though..

Wow so sorry to hear this! While you were sleeping is down right scary! Sounds like a inside job to me too, housekeeping knows what locks work and which ones don't. As for the good looking girls...their pretty smart don't ya know!

If you get right down to it disclaimers etc are not valid. If the ilrepair of the establishments facilities contributed to the theft, they are liable. That is if want to go to court...

Broken lock! Had to be an inside job or someone intentionally broke the lock when they stayed in the room and knew they would be back! *** are people thinking! Serious mental issue on this one! Best of luck on this one!!!

Sorry for your loss, and I was upset a couple of years ago when I had 1 belt stole ???
This is really making me think , I have been taking my kids and their boy friends this year. Pretty sure I could still go into battle mode but who is thing that after a day of sledding ? It normally takes me 2-3 nights to get any " good " sleep everytime we stay somewhere. I think that is more than brazen... they have to be preparred if you wake up ! That's the part that bothers me the most, in other words they are armed with something ?
