Best town in Northern Wi to take wife that does not sled.

I would like to take a weekend trip with the wife who does not ride. Does anyone know what a good town would be to keep
Her entertained while I ride? A town with lots of shops, craft malls etc... The farther south the better, Tomahawk would be ideal
As less drive time, but would be willing to go as far as Eagle River to keep her happy. How about St Germain? I have sledded
Through just about every town in the North Woods but obviously have never stopped to shop. Any input appreciated.

Minocqua seems to have many shops along 51 as you drive thru. I`m not a shopper either but it looks like something the wife would like.

If you stayed in St G. , you could split the difference in distance between E.R. and Minocqua. There's a chance that some shops in Minocqua may not be open in the "off-season" but I'm sure she'd find something to her liking.

Eagle River would be your best bet, you could hit a movie in the evening together after a nice dinner somewhere in the area,

3 towns that your wife can shop E.R., Minocqua & BJ. If dates are open like not now due to thaw BJ would give her a day to shop until she drops from shop to shop to shop. E.R., Minocqua more spread out but BJ all downtown & can walk it.

Also, are these shops that are in walking distance of each other in Boulder Jnc downtown? Do you know a street name?

Theres only one main street in Boulder.:)
She can always drive down to Rhinelander.

I don't know name of street in BJ but all shops on both sides of that main street then some shops are along a brick sidewalk that winds around off the main street. Lots of photo shops, paintings on display + candles, clothes carvings stuff like that. My wife had to look at every dang thing there bored me to death so must be good.lol :)

Not all shops in B.J. open in the winter, but most of them are. Really nice coffee shop called Dancing Bear with a fireplace and very friendly people. We were there a few weeks ago. Shops that are open had some good stuff and all walking distance. Would definitely recommend, we'll be back!

The shops in Boulder are right off of M. I am not a shopper, but most look open in winter. (like polarismike said) If she wanted to go down to Minocqua from there, it's about a 30 min drive. Minocqua has a lot of shops - most open in winter - that are along the craft lines.

I've never shopped in St Germain or Eagle River...but do know they have some shopping to do.

Your asking for alot..... ( LOL ) No disrespect intended. I had that conversation with my wife a few times and she would rather sit at home and do ( whatever ) normally rest since we both work too much.
Seems time is the most valuable commodity. She would be driving, shopping, and spending time in a far away destination while we were out riding.... that doesn't appeal to her since she can " POWER SHOP " down here ( story for another day ).
