my dog has cancer

My dog Ollie had surgery yesterday and is doing very well. She has had a swollen nipple, breast for a few weeks so I took her in and they said it was an infection. Vet also took sample of area and checked for cancer, said no cancer but infection. Problem got worse so I took her back and just through exam he said it was a Mammary cancer. There was another lump on her side so they check that and it came back as a different cancer (forgot the name.) He said that the Mammary kind was aggressive and she would be gone in 3 months. Since she had 2 different cancers and had never been spayed, he decided to spay he, remove the cancers and be done. Our family thought that since Ollie was in such great shape it would be worth it to try an get it removed. I mean she is 11 now but is in very good condition. She had surgery Wed and came home yesterday. She has been a little slower and takes it a bit easier but she is still herself and looking for crumbs on the kitchen floor, will eat anything like usual.

so yea...she is doing great! We hope for a full recover and another 5 years from her!

Mamore? I can't find that anywhere, Could that have been Mammary cancer?

Well I certainly hope so! All my best wishes for a successful outcome and many more years for you & Ollie!

You are correct there Frank! I corrected it in my previous post, thanks!

Thanks everybody, it meas a lot to me and the family! My poor son Andrew is only 7 but the last time (2 years ago next month) he heard the word cancer was when grandpa got sick and died. He went to school the other very sad thinking the same for Ollie but now he sees her doing so well he has hope for her.

She actually looks good

Looks like she's content which is great! Good luck on her recovery. We've done the same for our dogs too, it's a gutwrenching experience. God bless Ollie and your familiy.
