Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the kind words and concern. Ollie has been doing very good so far. Her incisions are healing fine and she is supposed to have her staples out in a few more days. We have been treating her like a baby and she is so worth it!

Dude, I'm not sure whether I'm posting late or not. Really sorry for your smart dog.
Actually, if the surgery is done, please share the status.
Best wished for you Ollie.
I hope it will be a minor operation and dog will be all right.

I feel for you Lenny. My dog Max just had a tumor removed Tuesday. He's ten and was going downhill real fast over a three week period. Now he is doing a lot better and is like a younger dog. Those things grow fast on them.

xsledder, I hope max does well, keep us posted.

Amberden, Ollie is doing very well, no signs of cancer reoccurring as of yesterday. We took her in because she often gets a yeast infection in her ear. The inside of the ear gets this black crap in there and the ear stinks real bad. While she was there he checked her out and said he see's and feels no tumors, so far so good! I just wish I could get this ear thing to stay away for good. Ollie has had this many times and we treat it with drops the vet prescribes and they do work.

WOW I am glad for you. I had a past Dobe with a fatty tumor, turned cancer I swear overnight, after 8 years. Had to make the decision to put him down as it spread like wildfire. Gus still had everything else going for him, was a very hard decision, but it was time. After that our younger Dobe Reba had all her fatty tumors removed,so I didn't have to go thru it again.

Thank you Lenny. I hope you get the ear problem licked. Thank you LoveMyDobe. My wife is checking the dog over every day. Max does have a fatty bump but the doctors tested it and said there is nothing abnormal about it. We had another husky die ten years ago by a heart attack at the age of eight. My wife wasn't going to let me put him down. It wasn't in the card unless the cost of the surgery was really unreasonable ($2,000+).

I was just reading this thread again and Ollie walked up and nudged her hose in between my arm and side wanting to get a good scratching. She is all ready shaking her head better now that her infection is lessening. Now my hand smells because she had rolled in something and remnants of that something is on my hand. Don't we all just love these dogs! ;)
