It looks like the Keewenaw got snow!

It looks like John got at least 6", and the Keewenaw seems to have the most. The Lake Gogebic area just has a dusting per the cams. It's a start, keep it coming!!

LOL, I would have never thought I would be so excited to see 6" of snow at John's house, as I was this morning.

I know, I thought the same thing. I was so excited I was thinking who should I call and tell, rp7x should be up by now. Crazy what this snow, and lack of, will do to us! LOL

Actually kinda bummed! I was hoping for at least a foot last night. We all know that 6" of fluff is really like an inch or two packed on the trail. But its still good beginning, and not trying to be Debbie downer, goodness knows we have plenty of that this winter.

Looks like the Lake guns are going to run for a week or maybe more.I hope the NNW winds go a little more than predicted.

Hoping to come up this thursday thru sunday, and would like to know it if it is worth the trip. Seven hour ride isn't exactly close. Fingers crossed for LES.

If the snow were to stop right this minute and not return for the rest of the week, I would say do not make the trip. Thankfully, the exact opposite is looking to happen. It looks like it may NOT STOP SNOWING for any period longer than 5-8 hours for the next 10-14 days up this way. The snow will be lake effect, which is light and fluffy and thus takes more to build a base with, but I'd say in my immediate vicinity, we are about halfway there to building a good base. There was a tiny bit left on the trails when the snow started and when packed down, the snow so far has probably given us 2" of solid base, with lots more to come.

So keep checking cams and I will try and update everyone, perhaps even with some pics from some rides on the trails, but at this point, it is looking like things could be in very good shape from around mid-week on.

Thanks for the update John! I'm suppose to be in the Keweenaw starting next Saturday. Still in "wait and see" mode down here in Iowa. But looking encouraging!

yeah it looks like the bayfield bomber may set up over the keweenaw well maybe anyways. Do you see that happening john?

I believe Lori and Dave got 12" in Trimountain, just before South Range

I like the sound of that. Hey, not looking for a special forecast but rather a special forecast :confused:. You say "up this way," how about "down my way," please please please tell me. I know we need the NW winds right? I have people calling for lodging and many cancellations, just need a little hope or I'll be eating out of Beer Belly Bob's dumpster

The general wind direction looks favorable for the Bayfield bomber to set up later tomorrow into tomorrow night and early Tuesday, but not sure some of the other ingredients will fall into place as well. It's a possibility, but not yet a given.

Hi Lenny. I wish I had better news for you right now, but looks like winds could be favorable for you to pick up several inches tonight, but then turn more westerly (unfavorable) by tomorrow morning and continue that way through tomorrow and then even become WSW (even less favorable) for Tuesday and Tuesday night. A clipper looks to drop in for Wednesday, which looks to turn winds favorable for you (NW), with winds going back to more of a W or WSW for Thur and Fri and then another clipper to restart favorable winds for you over the weekend and possibly into early next week.

So you have some snow coming in the next week to ten days, but in bits and pieces, so it's going to be a game of patience- especially the next few days and the end of this week, but perhaps beyond that a good dumping for you.

why like 4 hr more in the truck u are in kremmling CO no brainer in my book
