Ok, I can man up and admit I was wrong for making accusations. I apologize. I was merely venting, two items in the tool kit were gifts from my wife and son, so it had sentimental value as well as monetary. You have to admit it was pretty low to steal from another, especially when were all out to have fun.

Wow, pretty harsh and not cool to go attacking someone when maybe the stuff fell out of the bag.

Maybe you are a 50+ year old bar hopper who was too drunk to realize your bag fell off and are lucky you made it home that day.

Yea, ummm.... it isn't good to assume or attack anyone when you have NO facts to back up your accusations.

i don't think they stole it from you, you lost it and they found it... if they took it off your sled that would be stealing it from you

OK rkw pulled up his old man pants and tightened up his suspenders :) and admitted that he was wrong. We have all vented before with out thinking about what we where saying or typing. Then on top of it rkw hit one of my nerves (about how some "older people" do look down/don't give some of the "younger kids/guys" the respect). Ya there are some punks out there...some are 20 some thing and some are 60 some thing. But you "older folks" have to give some of the "younger folks" some time, help and respect (if they deserve it) as we are the next generation to work on the trails, talk to the land owners and hopefully continue the sport that we all love.

lets get back to pink ski loops and short moderators from WI that delete threads (even though the claim it was an accident). :)

ride hard guys (but make sure your back packs are on tight) that sun is getting high and warm.

o by the way rkw I find it interesting that an old guy like you still uses Amsoil.....I thought that was a young guys oil! :)

Same crap happened to me last year between Mass City and Twin Lakes... Yup, you know who you are!

Took my Oakley (PRESCRIPTION) glasses and rifled through my clothes.

Now here in lies a problem with returning someone's stuff that is lost. Let's say that you lose your bag and you have money, tools, registration, etc. in it. I find it. However I only find the tools and the registration on the trail. I then find your number based on the registration. Call you and tell you I found your tools and registration. You meet up with me and ask me where your money, oil, belt, etc. are. I say; I have no clue but I found the tools and the reg. You then proceed to call me a theif.

This is why when I find something on the trail I either let it lay or keep what I want. So someone doesn't think I "stole" something.

Again, it's our responsibility to not lose our belongings. Things happen and if we lose stuff it's our own fault....not the person that finds a jug of oil on the trail.

Now wait a minute.
If I lose my wife on a twisty section of trail and then she takes a wrong turn and you find her you can keep her? Interesting concept.

with all do respect to you and your wife........this question can not be answered with out more info. How many miles, body condition (might have to lay it on the side to look at the under side) are the miles only U.P. miles, what kind of oil has been ran, and basic maintenance performed yada yada.

sorry to hear rkw... it was probly an 0bama supporter. they love free stuff

lmao AND fell off my chair.

Seriously,,,, rkw,, sorry for your loss and it does take some guts to publicly apologize like you did. I think you realize it's pretty hard to ascertain what age person for sure really did this.

I'd be a little extra pissed too if someone "actively" rifled through my lost/neglected/whatever, bag then threw it in the snow in combination with the gift part. I can be sentimental with special gifts from special people too.

Not being sacastic, but now you have an idea what to ask for in future gift-giving occasions.

It's a empty feeling knowing someone has gone through your personal belongings......sorry

I bet it was a group of sledders.......the 1st rider "faked a hand signal" to loosen the bag, and the last rider did a fake roundabout fist move and grabed your bag.............keep a sharp eye out there.........

I appreciate everyone's comments, even those that made me see the errors of my ways by making harsh accusations. I made an apololgy and feel it has been accepted, thanks.
I do have a couple comments to make in reply. Catdog you are absolutely correct, taking something which belongs to another is stealing.
Finding something on the trail does not make it fair game, if you had to leave a broken down sled on the trail, does that mean people can come along and take parts off of it or tow it out of the woods and claim it as theirs because they found it? We all know thats not right, so why sould someones personal belongings be any different? We all know whats right and whats wrong, lets behave accordingly.

Not to get off topic but this is somewhat related, I lost $1048 yesterday in an envelope. I stuffed it in my front pocket and must of came out when I pulled out my keys. Went to 3 places before I realized it gone. Made calls and started back tracking, never found. No way for anyone to figure out it was mine. Tore my truck apart looking, went thru a trash bin with coffee grounds and all. Gee now what? I am out??? So I called the lady who paid me in cash as a hope of some sympathy from her. Not sure why I called her really. She laughed and I was embarassed to say the least, then she said, "come back over my kids found it in my driveway."
As the saying goes, "found it in the last place I looked!" Whew!
