Lenny,
Was curious how the 700 motor worked out for you. It was useable I hope? Steve

oh yea! I put the top end on my bottom end. Seems like there may be an issue with the lower end of the 700 block but I didn't need that. I used all the stuff I got from you, carbs, coils,,all that stuff. 700 has noticeable power over the 600. Just got back from riding actually and the sled rips! Thanks again for a great deal!

well the trees are not getting out of the way fast enough and whacked another doing some more serious damage, sled is down till repair is complete. Going out west in 4 weeks and have lots to do. I have a set of used SLP triple pipes on the way and hear they really get this sled going, 25 hp. Will post pics soon of damage and repairs but still cannot say enough on how this sled rips,,,love it!

did a few more mods to the ol Mtn Max last week. I cut the old storage compartment off my seat and had it sewn together by a pro. It gave me lots more room to install a bag. "Old man Dave" gave me his old doo bag and it fit perfectly, I'm going to dye the the yellow side black, cant have school bus colors on a land shark!

I do have my slp pipes now but am getting my jets soon so I have not installed them. I bought them used and I will need to repaint them as they are not ceramic coated. If the whole sled performs well and I can stop barking up the trees I may have them ceramic coated at a later date. Anyone ever use the high temp paint on sled pipes. Even if they look good for a year I'd be happy. When I cut the seat down which had the tail light mounted on the back I needed to locate an adequate light. Kip hooked me up with an old RX1 set up, looks fair, good enough for any hill billy.

How much is different between the mountain max and the yamaha trail sleds of comparable years, other than the track and rear suspensions?

probably nothing, I do know the 2000-2001 has a 17 degree approach angle and the years before was steeper and more of a trencher, that is important if you want a good machine for backwoods
