Top 10 Reasons

I'm looking for help in booking a trip UP there over Christmas break. I know the reasons, you know the reasons, but putting the reasons to an understanding is sometimes hard.
Good snow, time off, blah blah blah... all invalid.;) Also, Lying; like I won't go in February and March, those won't fly either.

Agree with Ezra on this one. I don't: Hunt, Fish (much), Golf, etc. Stopped going to NASCAR tracks about 5 yrs ago. The Wife gives me h**l every year at the start of the season. I politely remind her that this is the ONLY time of the yr I get out and do much of anything. I've got the sled, and I'm going to use it! Not going to be one of those guys that buys a sled with 500 miles on it, then turns around and sells it 3 yrs later with 550 cuz I "didn't have time to ride" Having a young family does make it tuff for us, but an un-written rule in our house is I take care of the house and the kids (laundry, cooking, etc) thru the new year so she can do all her holiday fun with her friends. Once Jan 1 hits, she knows it's over. She has short term memory loss, so I have to remind her about every weekend in Nov - Dec that I sat around the house with the kids while she was out doing her thing. We will be having this conversation again very soon (about two weeks to be exact).

Mrs. Russholio here. I guess I'd have to ask myself (if I were you) how much time I spent with the wife during the year and do I spend time doing things SHE enjoys? Marriage is one of those things that you have to give 100% to - and it goes both ways.

Oh sure Mrs. R., put on the pressure.

I actually do spend a lot of time with my wife doing the things she likes to do but it turns out that they often things I like to do (like going on fishing trips). Consequently, I think I’m coming out of this smelling like the proverbial rose but it’s really an illusion. After 46 years of marriage, she has learned to play me like a violin. I’m never quite sure if she actually buys my reasoning or if she just accepts it because of the sheer entertainment value.

Fact is, I have more reasons that don’t work than those that do. The “I’ll be happier around home” reason stopped working years ago (lack of evidence). I still try the “I might only make a couple of trips this year” and the “This might be my last big year of riding”. There could always be a shred of truth to these so they still seem to be somewhat effective.</SPAN>

my wife use to ride all the time. she was one of the few wife's that could keep up with the boys.
but and I think this is 1 of the reasons I have such a negative view of 3/4 ton 4stroke.
she wanted a new 660 on the way to the cabin it was the 1st yr of the 660 sales guy convinced her it was quit smooth etc etc .I bought it .
well with in the first mile it was rolled over with her under it. then that night it hit a tree bent the bulk head not enough power like her zrt to gas it around the corner.
new bulk head arms etc then over a small hill moving out on the trail and the logging trucks had tore it up and trail re froze that tank could not skim over so it bucked her. she still has a chunk of bone floating around in her elbow .just a little reminder for her to show me for life when I try to get her to pick up the pace.
from running 60 70 all day to rarely breaking 40 on a lake and 30 on a trail.
I would rather stay home and watch tv than do that all day.
and she is not that in to it any more any way. now I just get a top of the line cabin or lodge 1 time a yr she will ride for 1 day and sit in lodge and do stuff the rest of the trip and be just fine.
we are doing black hills with a bud and his wife who is in the same boat early jan.
the cabins cost us a lot more than guy trips but worth every dime .

Some people hang out in bars, go to strip clubs, and or gamble. You want to hang with some friends and enjoy what mother nature has to offer while overdosing on adrenaline. I would say want the lesser evil.
