Ouch! Better let it warm up a little better if you are gonna use forged pistons.
Didn't hit the throttle till 110 its 2 miles to get to the trail when it hit 120 about 1/3 of the way there I flipped to tach cuz it sounded like it revved really high one quick glance of 8700 rpm I started babying it not worrying about water temp and more as to this dang things setup for out west. A mile down the trail kablewy. It was mag side which gets a lot hotter than PTO but still don't explain why the sled has 600 miles and wiseco pistons

Looks like you got something that somebody patched to dump? Better find out the cause. Check the intake boots delaminating. You musta really been on it hard when it hit 8700. Rev limiter hits at 8600. I would guess the weights are down in the 54g range to spike that high.

Haven't had time to look but 54g came to mind also. I saw 8700 with my own 2 eyes lol I wasn't hardly on it at all in the 3 miles I put on it I never had the flapper all the way down and I know for a fact the guy put 60 miles on it the weekend before.

Intake boots are a good thought, just had to replace mine, they were coming apart in a couple spots.

in 07...every Rmk that I rode with(4) of them (from new) got 3 motors first season....ouch.....If I remeber right they where blaming the cold seize that year....the coolant when you stoped would get cold sitting in the rear of heat exchanger and apon starting it back up it you would get a cold seize(guys who had best of luck with rebuild would let warm back up after smoke breaks)....friends never did get a real answer just moved on to next year sled.....

Indy did you look at the boots yet? On my 07 they were delaminating after the first season, I actually replaced them 2 times in the almost 8000 miles I put on it. You say the guy put 60 miles on it the weekend before? In the Madison area?
