I think if their was anything new we would of already heard about it. Remember how much hype was created about the yamma cat last year? 45 min and will know for sure.

Looks like Yamaha is focused on the cat sleds in their lineup and not their own. This is good for me since I didn't want the temptation to upgrade my sleds. Nothing new with the Yamaha sleds...and don't like the few colors that are available either. So good news for me! ;)

I get the feeling Yamaha got behind as far as product development goes, and the partnership with Cat gave me two years (so far) to catch up on whatever they are working on internally. At least if they are telling the truth about new product coming out over the next 5 years, some without TRF involvement.

I didn't like 15 BNG of Apex xtx but I didn't hate it either. I would buy used so can't be choosy on color. Sometimes more model colors in later in release.

I'm not upset at all...I like cats and yamaha's....and if I had the money...one of those ltx dx vipers would be my next sled....the black one. But...quite frankly...this is not what some folks expected.....and the nay sayers are gonna have a field day with the lack of an "all new" yamaha (not a yamacat)....I thought it was 5 "all new models" over 5 years?? Or did I misunderstand what they said last year?? Again I'm not mad at all...I like the Viper...and hope to have one in the future (just not now)....but...this looks bad for yamaha...sorry...It just does.

Yep no doubt Yamaha pushing Yamcat for 15 don't know how I feel about that now would have been better if they had eps Viper was no picnic to steer.

There are 14 cats in the Yamaha line up, 13 true yamahas. I could be wrong but IMO the future does not look good for Yamaha. If Doo keeps pushing the 4-stroke bar higher and builds a 150hp 4 stroke they will run Yamaha out of town. The partnership was the greatest move ever for cat. Whitedust might be forced back on a Doo or a Catamaha.

LMAO @ RUN YAMAHA OUTTA TOWN......keep dreaming doo riders.....no other brand makes people sooooo upset...that they make rash...false...or dumb statements...Yamaha must frighten doo riders...don't know why...but the poison the yellow riders spawn towards the blue guys is nuts!! LOL

Actually only brand sled I don't own right now is Cat. I don't wear yellow sun glasses, its just hard to fathom much of a future for yamaha. The other manufactures All push the envelope. Yamaha puts new skis on a sled 5 years too late. Puts a 1.75 on a nytro, adds eps to old existing models. They would sell way more sleds if they developed new tech on a regular basis. They are digging a hole for themselves. What happened to the nytro? Thats right they gave up and put BNG's on cats. It won't just be Doo running them out it will be Polaris and cat too

Then I will ride my XTX until it's vintage. I love it and don't really need anything new right now.

By the way...anyone...what is "BNG"? hahaha

I used to think that...I don't anymore....ONE RIDE on a vector LTX...made a stauch polaris guy (and a riding buddy of mine) buy one...another polaris friend of mine...said "I thought EPS was a gimick"..."perfume on a pig"..."after riding this sled...I can say I am totally impressed...the EPS makes it feel lighter than my INDY 600".."it works"..."I would own one of these".....those were all quotes from my anti yamaha friends I ride with....they loved the power...the ride, and the handling...all things they read online about how lousy yamaha was.....AND BTW...how many blown up vectors have you seen???

Every manufacturer has their "nytro"....some guys like em...some don't......the Viper/cat effort imo ...is a good one...I haven't met anybody who hates em that owns em....I think they are sharp...Cat always made good riding sleds....yamaha always made good motors...what's to hate??? Yes...yamaha needs their own new stuff...and it is concerning that they don't have it...but would I be upset if yamaha shut down their sled line, and only supplied cat with engines??? NOPE. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

There was two things I noticed missing from the '15s. One, is the Nytros. They were short lived. The second was improvements to address belt failures and other issues.

Seems to me the Nytro morphed into the rather large Viper lineup & has been discontinued. Why is that not logical progression of new lineup? All OEMs do this...... What's the diff?? Poo brought back the Indy name but not a 90s Indy in any way? Just seems to me what everyone does models come & go.

Six model years is short lived?? (08-14)....There have been no belt failures that I know of....I think you are confusing the Viper with the Cat Turbo...the Viper uses yamaha clutches...not cat clutches...yamaha clutches are not belt eaters.

I think yami is on its way out of the sled business as far as a sole manufacturer. Apex vector and phazer reamain all yami. No new investment on those products. Nytro gone. Only thing somewhat but not really new is the yamacat. Basically
Yamaha is not looking to build all new sleds from the ground up. Thats blatantly obvious. I saw a chart on ty4 that shows sleds slaes for the big 4 ober the last 15 years. Yamaha and cat in steady decline. Even worse for yamaha is they only have 5% of the market share. Cant say i blame them for not wanting to invest in the sled biz. What a shame. Maybe i'll be proved wrong in the next couple of years but it doesnt look good at this point. Just my $.02

Belt failures????? What model?

I wasn't saying there are belt failures on any of the sleds, I was using it as an example that they didn't have to address design issues/problems that surfaced from the 2014 models. (Basically, it appears the 2014 models are pretty solid.)
