Bad news from Tog

Very sad! I feel for his riding partners and the family. Be safe boys and girls if your heading west.

Not good. We all who ride out there know the risks, but many of us feel that "it won't be me". I can't stress enough that if you wish to ride out west that an Avy class is ever so much needed to at least give you the basics. Mike Duffy has a very good video out to get you started. Nothing is guaranteed out there conditions change daily. The better you are trained the better chances you or a friend will live another day. It is always sad to hear such news as this. Sounds like it was handled correctly. My heart goes out to the Family.

sledding forums are where you come to learn about all things snowmobile......2 guys on the hill at same time will end like this in bad avy danger...I am betting this thread will turn into great info about the dangers...

the avalanche occurred when Tourlett's sled got stuck in the snow and a friend circled behind him to try to help out. The friend was able to avoid the slide.

A lot of guys on this site ride out in Tog, some, including John, are heading out there the first week of March. Any info that concerns that area needs to be posted as far as I am concerned.
