What do you think "AXYS" stands for?

You always end up Attaking the engines. I thought your username was for a sled you owned, but maybe not. LOL I'd like to know how many 800's Poo sold vs. the # of posts of their engines blowing up.

Like I said...you Polaris owners sure get defensive..lol I get it...I have been there...the brands I like certainly aren't perfect...I just think it's ironic that you polaris guys rip on 4 strokes..that have really been bullet proof..I get it...you guys don't like em...so be it.. I see a pattern here though....Since 09...how many problems have they had with their 800's??
I am just going off what YOU Polaris owners post here....Kinda hard to pick on ski-doo.... I haven't seen
many posts on etec problems....and I am sure they have out sold polaris by a two to one margin....and yes my username was based on my previous sled...I ride a cat now...sorta...lol It just got rebuilt..I blew her up too...so these posts about 2 stroke engine problems peek my interest.

Way back in the day...the Indy trails, and Indy 500's were bullet proof...put the Yamaha phazer, and the enticer series with them...and you probably had the top 4 most reliable snowmobiles ever built. .....Polaris was very reliable back then...and FAST...it was tough to beat an indy 650.

To me it's surprising to see so many problems online with the polaris 600's and 800's....wether it's a true assessment or not...the PRECEPTION is that they are having problems....and it sure seems real to me.

Show me when I have ever ripped on a 4 stroke! I had one for 13,000 miles. I have said many times that Yamaha makes a great engine, I don't care for their chassis though. I'd be the first to buy a good 4 stroke in a Polaris chassis.

I don't think Doo is outselling Poo 2 to 1. I think their market share is much closer than that.

Having a sled down for a long time with good snow is maddening! ;)

Yes it is...I can honestly say...if I didn't snowmobile...I would HATE winter...if I had to live here ALL winter and didn't have a sled...i'd be a total alcoholic...lol..I know now what people who don't snowmobile do during winter...and it sucks...lol

Turns into a Poo bash. Did I mention my 800 is running great. Riding it at 1000' this weekend. 10,000" next weekend. So say what you want.
Back to the topic, it's an acronym for something. It also is working to draw attention. Mission accomplished.

You couldn't pay me to be that guy in the group with the heavy tank watching everyone else have fun... To each their own. Some people like to sit in a lazy boy. I will never be that guy. I trade because I can. so keep on lovin those heavy boring tanks and will keep buying the best performing sled on snow!! Thank you!!

Ya you know the other brand loyal people are nervous when you see the posts about this new sled. Go over to HCS right now. Check out the axys forum. Mission accomplished for Poo.

Great responses....for the most part. I was the original poster and I sincerely apologize for another Polaris post being hijacked to the Polaris 800 will blow up.

Speaking from first hand experience about a 2009 Polaris 800 Dragon, I have 5,000 miles on the sled, and can you beleive it has "not" blown-up. No modifications except an SLP silencer on since mile 1. Sure I had to have the warranty work done after year one, but the machine was still running strong except for the Hi-Cup at 55-60 mph. My dealer took care of me by replacing the pistons and the block, even though the block did not have much scratching on the surface. Sure I had to have the ECU reprogrammed 2 or 3 more times, I forget.

I read all the statements about the 800 blowing up, and yes it has worried me as a Polaris 800 owner. But mine still runs strong, drinks a lot of oil, but still runs strong. Now I grade myself as an aggressive trail rider, but compared to others I am just a novice. I don't drag race it across the lakes, as I prefer to trail ride and hit obstacles. If I wanted to drag race I would by a lake runner. But I think a lot of the hype about the 800 blowing up comes down to the type of rider, riding conditions, gas used, and maintenance you perform on your machine, but most always say it is Polaris's fault.

In the end, I am now contimplating selling the 2009 Dragon and buying something, not necessarily a Polaris, new. But with all the bad hype concerning the Polaris 800, especially a 2009 Dragon 800, what is my machine really worth.....from the majority on this website...it sounds like it is just a boat anchor.

Anyways thanks for responding to my thread.

Going on the internet looking for problems with any particular sled, is like going to a hospital looking for sick people.

Most stereotypes are born from reality....just sayin.
I have a neighbor that bought a new poo every year since before the '02? bright red and yellow Ronald Mcdonald "X" 600, he then went to the 700's through the 2000's and in '09 went to the 800.
His experiance with his '09 and '10 poo 800's and his other riding buddies '10 800 are the only first hand point of reference I have about these engines, but let's just say It was not a good one for either of them.
Both were back to there dealer many times as mentioned above for the Polaris admitted problem based warranty work, reflash's and then finally the "blow-ups".

Having said alla that I guess I don't learn too quickly because I myself went and bought a leftover Poo 600 this season , but in my defence, my old neighbor never had a problem with the 6's he owned. I can't help thinking if he would have stayed with the 600's he'd still be on Polaris.
2000 fun miles so far....knock on wood.

Maybe we can get back on topic. There is a Poo Problems thread or you can start a new one. Just sayin. I wish those two words together were banned from the language. It's like finger nails on a chalk board to me. Just saying.

Can't blame you for cringing, but you can't look to Polaris future without looking back.
Let's say this new AXYS thing turns out to be the best chassis ever...will you be comfortable knowing it has the same 800 mill as in the past?

Got to agree with you Mark 800 probs just not news & bored with all the comments about meltdowns .....maybe just venting... I guess....takes a long time to get over it ....lost riding time hurts even if warranty engine work. If not under warranty it REALLLY stings......just guessing as I still have not got over doo 800 meltdown.:(
