Was just on the news this week, said the upcoming season will be a repeat of last winter. Low supply and high prices again, load up now if you're going to need it next season.
Our prepay or payment programs require a min. 500 gal. purchase. I barely go thru 400 gallons so I have to do the 20% in tank and current price at the time.$1.49 Summer fill. $1.79 for next winter pre-pay. Not bad at all compared to you guys.
What a scam to rip us off.
I typically buy a few weeks from now,I won't let them play the min purchase with me. I play the I'm paying cash and you aren't the only game in town. They need your cash this time of year. This is when the suppliers buy for the next season. I've been schooled buy some customers of mine that make a lot of $ playing futures. You guys are doing the right thing, but call around, pay cash if you can, don't expect a great price if you are paying with terms. This is just what I have learned. I will do a pre buy on a few hundred gal, but will never do a keep fill.
Minimums here are 200 gallons. They mess with you here by making you rent tanks from them so you can't shop elsewhere for best prices. I have offered to buy the tank many times but they won't even consider selling it. So my house tank is rented but that doesn't matter so much since I burn wood and use very little LP at home. I own my tank at the lake and always pay cash. Paying cash usually works out to 5 cents a gallon. On another note I just got a notice from Central Boiler that says they will no longer be able to sell their Classic woodburner in about a years time. Then you will only be able to purchase their super efficient but more expensive model. From what I have been told they are not that much more efficient - just more expensive. Thanks EPA. For me it won't matter since I will be dead before my Classic wears out. I hope.
