Does a taxpayer/owner need to state why they are rescinding there land use??? I don't think so.

your not even close Frank, 145 hp is enough for me. Dumping serious weight and loosing heat under the hood is worth it, sorry you don't understand, no need to argue why guys mod their sleds. First thing I did when I bought my 14 pro RMK was remove the battery and electric start components. If you man handle a 500lb machine for 8 hrs you get tired, physics don't lie and handling a 490 lb sled is advantageous! Climbing hills at WOT creates heat and a way to eliminate some heat is ceramic coatings. So you see, it's not because we have raisin sized nads, although my buddy Bob does! Sorry Bob.

So the law that was posted above basically says I can modify my exhaust as long as it meets certain decibel requirements ? Because that is the way I read it?. I have also noticed there are lot of people from this board who are NOT commenting on this. People who are normally very very active in the discussion board. (Because they run cans) So as long as I'm running a can that is under the legal decibel limit can I still go to The bergland bay bay? Or should I start a thread urging those of us that aren't idiots to just avoid that bar? (We do anyway). Like i said I hope this doesn't backfire for him. It may be more than just a few customers that he loses. I think there is probably a better way to go about this than banning customer, but hey! He can do what he wants. Just hope with how fragile any UP business is that we don't see a for sale sign in to years due to alienating certain customers. How bout BBB instead of dividing the community you try unite us? If you could afford to lose customers? How bout some sort of "turn in your can" program? Stop at the BBB , turn in a can in working condition and get free cocktails for the day? Idk. I just think there is a better way

All stock exhaust for me, although as long as the aftermarket being used is within the limits of the law, I don't have a problem with it. I can say that I prefer to ride with sleds with stock or legal aftermarket, as the others are annoying and in some cases uncomfortable to be around.
One of the sleds I rode with this weekend was a Skidoo 600 ace and I LOVED how quiet it was. I which my sled could be that quiet... with the same performance though!

Michigan law defines what is legal or not and those cans that are legal are not the issue here. The cans that sledders know to be illegal are the problem and those are the ones that should be addressed by whatever means. It boils down to respect for others especially the land owners that grant permission to use their property. If you knew your pipe was to loud and you were standing right next to said landowner what would you tell him in your defense?
We lost trail usage and people dont get it. How soon we forget the likes of Mr Kurt Meister. He didnt want to close a trail he wanted whole tracts of forest closed. There are more out there like him Im sure so anything WE as sledders can do to curb the negative sentiment toward us I am for!!

are we 100% sure that the cans are the real issue ? so the guy said it was because of the cans in the statement from msa.
I have been in the room with land owners who want the trail gone. u bring your best sales guy with the land owner is sick of the trail on his property. owner says this or that u attempt to sway him he comes up with other excuse u attempt to counter . my guess he is over the whole thing gave a hand full of reasons and each was countered in the end the guy was over it and nothing was going to sway him. now msa tosses out cans because that was 1 of the reasons the guy was over it.

Lenny you are 100% correct my friend. I knew this subject would stir the pot, but people coming up here for a couple of days would not put up with the crap they do here back home in their back yards. Look at my facebook page from yesterday and see what some kid wrote. "you know you live in a snowmobile town if you can't stand the noise move out into the country". We need to take the bull by the horns before we lose more trails. This is where the ATV club was going to try and get an easement. Do you think that is going to be possible now? I know there are cans that are not as loud and riders that use them responsibly. Hey no harm, no foul, but those that have no respect for residents up here need to stay home. Or else we will not have a trail left to ride on.

I figured that's what you meant but soon after some guys said if it ain't stock impound it and pay a grand and look at the support that position gained. 2 good friends of mine have had cans that were loud and we would be climbing hill and the loud sled would go buy and literally sting your ears. They changed them because they didn't like them themselves.
Thanks for clarifying because now 99% us should have no problem with your stance. Did you ever think you'd get trashed for wanting sleds to NOT be loud and preserve trails?

Maybe I should have said I am a trail rider and the cans I see are on trail.
I still hate the roosts from off trailers across the trail.

I have first hand experience that loud pipes save lives. I can't count how many times a car would have cut me off (and on more than one occassion, put me on the pavement) if it weren't for the loud pipes on my Harley.....and yes, I have a can (aka muffler) on my sled too....it is not a "race" can but a "trail" can. Much lighter and takes less space than stock. And I have heard some stock mufflers that are louder than my trail can. I am all about respect for others, but I hate the government telling me what I can or cannot do to my sled, Harley, truck, boat, etc. I will maintain safety and respect for others, but Don't Tread on Me!
You are correct, loud cans on sleds save lives by eliminating trails, therefore reducing the overall risk of the sport because we have fewer places to ride
