As some of you know, yellowknife has come back to 2 strokes after 8 years on Yamaha 4 strokes. He does a good job with his reviews, very detailed. He has documented his past few seasons on his nytros, vipers and now backcountry. He also did a review of axys pro-x of his buddies. He gives honest opinions of the good and bad. He has a youtube channel and usually has a video once a week. I like watching them on lunchbreaks at work. This guy is pretty hard on equipment with the extreme temperatures they live in. No groomed trails.

Are you suggesting he wouldn't post it if it dootalk approved? I made it 5 minutes in and all I heard is he hated his viper and doo makes a bad-a$$ cover.

If you only knew what he went thru with his previous sled. Its all video'd in previous episodes.

He buys something new almost every year and documents his whole season in a collection of 20 minute videos. He has no bias and was going to buy a axys but after the viper swore he would never buy a first year sled ever again. So went with the backcountry. As he mentions snowmobiling is fun again. I think its interesting living in such a remote territory and how different the terrain they ride in is. For people wanting to compare the capabilities of the different sleds, you wont get it any straighter and more truthful than him. Like it or not. ;)

momoney, do you ever get tired of shaking those poms so tirelessly? Would you be posting this thread if he was dumping his dooski's ? I think not so why continue to blow crap at all us? You are probably infatuated with this guy because he has "yellow" in his name,,,right?

The guy is not to bright to buy a big heavy 4s sled and ride it in the bush. In fact, his riding skills are worse than his decision making to buying 4s pigs so why should we be impressed at such nonsense?

I could have saved him a lot of grief and instructed him to dump the 4s many years ago, I lasted close to 3 years on the 4s and learned my lesson,,,, and I thought I was a little slow.

I could be very descriptive and non bias with yars of data but when you throw the wrong application sled into the mix,,what do you expect.

Why don't you just say what's really on your mind like "yamaha sucks" and "ski-doo is the best,,,that's what you usually say,,,come on brother, be consistent.

The renegade is another stupid choice but better than the rest, will this guy ever learn. At least his stupidity is documented so we can all laugh and be entertained in the off season.

Ive posted his videos before. I posted the axys review in the other thread and said i would post the gade review before i even knew what the outcome would be. If you follow him the outcome may be good or bad, maybe he will burn it up before seasons end? Who knows they ride into may most years. The reviews were released today.

This gives detailed in depth review of the sleds he has owned for people on the fence and what to expect from a sled. LIKE it or NOT. It is nice hearing from someone truthful and unbiased the attentiom to detail that brp has put into the smallest of things. Something people who are considering a 12,000+ investment would appreciate!!!

your wrong again! would you take a Chevette to a tractor pull or a new caddie to a demolition derby,,you just don't get it!

How can we take this guy seriously when he continues to buy the wrong sled for the type of riding? His info is irrelevant unless you twist it to fit your agenda like yourself

so let me get this right,,,,,you buy a sled for it's non-intended purpose and than tell people to make a decision if they are on the fence? Your kidding right? It's like a fish out of water,,,no brainer!

What are you talking about. You make no sense. So a nytro or viper long track is not capable of driving across lakes with tobaggon behind you to go ice fishing? Or lake cruising in 1 of 2 feet of powder? His buddies ride 1200s, bearcats , XRS, ACEs, skandics, axys..but im sure u knew that. LOL. He likes his nytro FYI

Thanks for your input. Anyone who has watched his videos will understand. I have watched them the last few years. Well before we ever knew he would go back to skidoo. FYI he liked the vipers capability on the trails and never complained about it in the powder lakes. But when the sled leaves you stranded or is in the shop and steams non-stop from fit and finish, goes thru 2 reverse motors, 3 starters, a roll of duct tape 2 batterys, and leaks antifreeze, i guess anything is a nice change of pace

How much cranking do you think his starters took before he got the proper updates to fix the starting issue. Have you ever tried to handle a nytro in pow at slower speeds with any kind of terrain,,,I have,,you have not so spare me what you think I know.

why is a guy who rides in extreme northern conditions alone who buys a new sled every yr buying a 4 stroke any way? did not know u could hook your hair dryer up in the bush . shocker a guy who has been on 3/4 tons for yrs buys a new 2st and loves it SHOCKER

lets take your logic to it's extreme. If what you are saying is true and consistent about the vipers than we can say for sure that if you live near yellowknife don't buy a viper. I know a guy right here in Twin lakes who had some problems with his 14 Viper and lost some serious riding time. Dealer did get issues resolved and the guy loves the sled now. In fact I asked him myself if he would buy another and he said yea and he is not known as a Yamaha guy.

There is no terrain or hills..or a such thing as going slow speeds in powder where he rides...

Truth is all 4 manufacturers are making a pretty good product, some are more detail orientated and user friendly. Making the whole expierence pleasant vs not. Like it or not.

Its really not worth the time to argue with you. I respect your opinion lenny and ill just leave it at that. If people want to watch the videos, great, if not no big deal either.

are Yamaha starters known to prematurely fail? I wonder how many Nick keller replaced on his 100,000 vector

If you are part of the 0.5% of all sledders that ride where he rides then I'd say his reveiws might have some relevance....except for one thing....he looks to be one of the least experianced sledders in his vast neighborhood so who really cares that he tapes his every move on a sled along with commentary.......kinda wonder who the closest dealer is....that'd be consideration number one for me.....unless I am on a pure Yamaha 4 stroke because they run forever.

Ezra he rides 10k kilometers a year. He burned down 01-05 600 and 800 rotax engines. So he wanted something that wouldnt burn down and decided to go 4 stroke. Even tho he burned one of those down too

There is a yamaha dealer in the town he lives. And he did mention there support was very good for all the issues he was having. Even with the updates his sled would not start in cold. That was the last straw and why he made the switch over half way thru the seasom this year.
