I do not know rear ends I can find out. I do know the diesels from just a few yrs back pre urine were even doing better than the new stuff. yeah as far as mpg on my 5.0 I also get about the same pulling my 12 ft clam as I do pulling the 4 place deck over extra tall with 3 sleds in it. prob like .5 mpg diff . crazy . I know it could get much better if I kept it under 80 .but if I have not changed my driving habits in 30 yrs and even more tickets don't see it happening any time soon .
the oil burners deff have less work pulling not saying they don't. 1 other thing to think about is the weight of the trucks alone between a 3500 and a 1500 .
heck they are all fine and every one needs a oil burner 1 time in there life .
when we were looking for my wife's last car we looked for a AWD wagon but because of epa requirements no one was selling a diesel in awd . so went with the 4matic gas. I am still thinking about the sprinter awd for the next truck have not seen one yet but I guess they are selling them
