Trail closure

It looks like the trail closure between Wakefield & Bessemer (in the area of Ramsay) has been resolved. The MI DNR apparently bought permanent trail easements.

Good news!....your post title fooled me.

If you walk that trail in the snowless months, I bet you can hear them sweet sweet mother freedom Harleys in the distance.

That's great news. That's exactly what some of the increased trail permit fees were supposed to go towards (permanent easements) and a great way to ensure trails stay open for the long term.

So now we can run mountain can's on our sleds? Sweet!

"Ban the Can" I say "Expand the Can!!"

I need to cut that extra 7 lbs from my stock can. Get's me to the bar faster, louder, and with less fatigue from fighting my machine. I can save more energy for blowing out corners.

Can't wait for the red light rally in hurley!!

Railroad grades may be boring, but they are a permanent trail. The clubs do not have to worry about loss of trail easements. There wouldn't be much of a trail system in MI if it weren't for the grades.

Just one question...is this another (boring) RR grade?

It's an ongoing effort to extend trails that included purchasing a boring 7 parcel stretch of a RR grade 1.4 mi in length in MI.

How does that compare to wonderful WI

Can't tell you if it applies to all of them in WI but the RR's still "own" the grades and could turn them back into RR's if they so chose to do. There were rumor's that the Wild Rivers Trail (Rice Lake to Superior) was going to be turned back into a RR as well as the Tri-County Corridor from Ashland to Superior.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled movie......
