I really like my Viking 6

Got close to 1200 miles so far and cannot say enough good about this machine. Motor and trans is super smooth, no jerking around taking off like I see in other machines. Gas mileage is 22-23 mpg. The room and comforts are the best part seeing that I can seat 6, 4 with tons of room and the box is the biggest yet. Cruising down the trail at 45 is simple and being long wheel base I don't float back and forth in back. The Viking is much quieter than the rhino and even more so in the 6 seat version with motor so far back. Seeing that j use it for family and work, the power is fine but I can see where some could want more but again it would serve a different purpose. If anyone is considering a side by side, takes look at the Viking or Wolverine. These are some well built machines that will last a good long time. If your looking for a performance oriented machine than a Viking wouldn't be the best choice. I rate the machine a solid 9.5 of 10

Lenny- we like our Viking a lot too. Traded our Polaris rzr in for it at Pat's in May. The rzr broke a rear driveshaft and we were 6 hours from home riding on our first day and we were not going to sit at camp all weekend so I decide to see what Kip had. Kip gave us a nice price on it and on our trade. He actually picked up the rig from another dealer and had it ready for us the next morning.
We get 20 mpg with it pretty much all the time. Has a ton of room in it. Power is smooth and top speed around 53 mph. A lot more dependable than the rzr plus more functionality.
Our neighbor has a Ranger that just is not as comfortable on an all day ride. The Ranger is a tad bit quieter than the Viking. It's a great Versitle machine. Glad we bought it instead of a Teryx 4 we were looking at!

nice info-commercial Lenny but the clearance looks pretty low- can it go through more mud than a 1995 honda forman with bald tires?!

I was a ride along for brushing and signing in Sept. and that Viking went through everything. Big Z

It's a big heavy machine and not all that good in the mud. Mud running is where you need the power but in my opinion it's not designed for a mudding rig. It's more of a utility, crushing ride with moderate off road capabilities. An RZR is much better in mud so please don't think I am bashing Polaris because they make some nice stuff. The big ranger is a nice ride and I did test drive one, considerably quieter and similar in ride quality. I may be wrong but the Yamaha seems roomier and has a huge cargo box. I like the simply controls on the Yamaha and the smooth drivetrain so for my weds it's perfect.
I did get to drive a YXZ today and wow is it nice. The clutch and shifter is a real short throw combo unit with total precision, I want one just because of the engineering.

lenny , a lift would be nice but I saw the u-tube video and you made it though a 3 foot mud hole as is so that's pretty good

I finally was able to drive the new YXZ a few days ago. I can tell you it's something special and I highly recommend you don't drive one or you will want one. Just because it is a manual trans doesn't mean it's not versatile. Sorry for my language but this is one bad *** machine. Before driving it I was thinking it would have a narrow market but just as many people drive cafe style bikes and don't race them, it will be similar.

Nice looking for sure, I did see a video of this thing a while ago, looks like a wild ride & also sounds bad azz. The only thing I don't get though is all the pointed ends on the body panels & the roof. Looks like a design from Horny Mike from Counts Kustoms. LOL!-Mezz

i like the retro Yamaha logo and strip along the door- I have the same feeling someone else stated -- Yamaha is going to rip into the 4 wheel market in the next few years

I think the YXZ is the best looking/designed sport sxs in the market....definately looks like a Yamaha. I like the simple mechanical structure of it...no clutter....you look where the engine should be and there it is,....very accessible.
The shift transmission is great, but I think alot of folks would love a cvt version as well.
