NO SNOW...here in my area (Tomahawk)....and NO ICE.....after yesterday's rain (and last week's warm weather) we are starting over...the lakes and rivers which had started to freeze over nicely two weeks ago...opened back up.....I went through my weather notes, and could not find a year where we didn't at least have a trace to one inch of snow on the ground by December 15th...sure we've had thin ice before, and sometimes it wasn't ready (the lake ice)..until well into January...but we've always had snow...at least some....I've been here 26 years and have never seen it like this. I realize some of you in Central and Southern Wisconsin have seen brown Decembers...But..once you get north of Hwy 64...it's very rare to not have snow this time of the year... Another bad thing is that there is zero frost in the ground..everything is wet and muddy....We need an extended cold streak to get everything froze up, before we get snow....and frankly..I just don't see it in the forecast...I wasn't going to say anything, because there have been several posts about the weather, and I know you guys are as itchy as me to get out riding...BUT....I have never seen it like this...and I mean never....even if we get cold tomorrow...it would take a month of cold weather to freeze the swamps by me..snow does us no good right now....the majority of our trails here cross water (swamps, lakes and rivers)....so if you are going to do a "weather dance"...do a cold dance...not a snow dance (that only works in the yoop)...
