Bad News / Good News (El Nino)

Reuters posted an article today about the current El Nino / The three majors (82/83, 97/98, and current). These are the three strongest on record since 1950. If you go to John's Historical, snowfall was minimal those years. 165 and 130 inches. However, the article describes the "Death of the Giant" and In both 1982 and 1997, western trade winds were highly reversed but abruptly returned to normal within one month at the end of both years. Although these winds have not been as anomalously strong in 2015, the same rapid jump occurred last month. The following year, snowfall did return with 200 plus inches (83/84 & 98/99).

all that tells me is the sample size is too small. i don't think anyone can predict what is going to happen. except john(crosses body father son holy ghost)

Bad news = no snow. Good news = Obama will fix it. ;)

.....until he does = have trailer, will travel.

P.S.
Name of the game this year = watch weather, head west!

You are correct - they fixed it all in Paris this year. Bad news though is that China has until 2030 to start making changes...

Well...the last large El Nino resulted in little to no snow in northern Wisconsin (except the snow belts)...in fact very much like this year (A brown Xmas)....that was 2002....That winter of 2001-2002 was a great year for the yoop...but poor everywhere else...I lived in south range that winter and we ended up with 310 inches of snow....EL NINO...doesn't always effect the yoop like it does elsewhere in the Midwest....but bear in mind....2002 was one of those years and trails were a zoo on the weekend from rockland to cooper harbor..unfortunately we are headed that way this year.

It was just an interesting article to read and I wanted to compare the snowfall of those years.

Here is you EL Nino fact of the day (sort of) The warmest Christmas ever in Chicago was 1982, 64 degrees. Only to be followed by a drought in 1983. And a record low -25 for Christmas 1983.

the sun is at it's peak activity. we will have a couple more bad winters till the solar activity slows down. ie the 11 year cycle of the sun. the sun creates global warming, el nino, la nina, global cooling, pretty much all of our weather is created by the sun and it is at it's peak.

- - - Updated - - -

that is 11 years till it's peak and 11 years till it's lull. 22 year cycle.

the sun creates global warming
THANK YOU!
Yes indeedy, as I keep telling these hand-wringing "anthropogenic (man made) global warming" wackos that want to spend billions if not trillions of tax money to "fix" it (which would be the equivalent of moving sand on the beach with an army equipped with teaspoons), "It's the sun, stupid!" … To borrow a phrase from Bill Clinton.

"What They Haven't Told You About Climate Change"

This is about the best short explanation of “Climate Change”, by Patrick Moore, the co-founder of Greenpeace. (Of all people!)(Click →) What They Haven't Told You About Climate Change. (Video, 4 min + 54 sec.)

This guy co-founded Greenpeace, so he certainly is a strong environmentalist, but hear what he has to say about this subject. It's very well presented.

Those, who attended the Paris Climate Change Summit should take the time to listen to this man.
So why are all of these so called "leaders" pushing this climate change agenda. Is there some other ulterior motive to push a political agenda?

Again, "It's the sun, stupid!" … To borrow a phrase from Bill Clinton.

I question of the science is right. I make all kinds of hydrology and hydraulic models for my profession and I can make them give any answer I want them to for the results I desire. Knowing this, I question all climate models.
