So what do you guys and gals think the next great innovation will be for sleds? Things have come a long ways in the last 15 years. What is next? Or what would you like to see? I will just throw out an idea I came up with. How about a handlebar mounted ride adjustment toggle where you could adjust both front and rear suspensions on the fly. Not that stupid crank thing that Arctic used for awhile. An electric servo that could change ride height and maybe even shock damping. That way when you are on a table top trail and you don't need suspension you could sink the sled down and lower the center of gravity and you could turn better and go faster. When you turned on to the next trail and it hadn't been groomed for awhile and is all whooped out you just toggle everything back up. All on the fly. What are some other ideas?

Better gas mileage comes to mind for me. Just rode from paradise to Pine Stump a few weeks ago. I cruised into Pine Stump on fumes! Lol.

Nothing would improve the ride on whooped out trails like a hovermobile. I envision problems with snow dust however, if you are not the leader of the group!

A factory 2 stroke turbo with a warranty. Will it happen? Doubtful but a guy can always dream!

Doo. Wish they had more color options and more overall options at time of snow check
Poo. A version of there race sled for the trail. Not the XCR. And Indy in Axys chassis
Yamaha. Sidewinder 800 2 stroke turbo. I would be all over that. And snobuilder and I could be friends
Cat. Could care less

They aren't that heavy when you remove the stock suitcase of a can, due to the heavy stock exhaust I believe most turbo kits only add 10-15 lbs to an axys. Plus there's more weight on the left side of the sled to begin with, with the motors being shifted over.

We're in the process of buying my wife a new car and I can say this, the technology in new vehicles has exploded in recent years. Both in performance and creature comforts and I suspect this will follow into other forms of transportation i.e. snowmobiles. The new CVT transmissions operate similar to a sleds secondary, very smooth transitions. The mileage is getting better all the time and performance continues to improve. Again, I think that'll trickle down to the smaller engines and stuff we call our toys.

Nobody cares about operating costs now that gas has been relatively low for a few years, but if it shoots back to $4.00+ I think you'll start seeing a push in that direction. The Doo 900 seems to be getting close for a flat land sled that has enough power, isn't too heavy to ride off trail (not the steep and deep) and runs a long way on a tank of 87. Seems like if it had another 20 hp it would be there.

Also I think 2 strokes will continue to get more reliable and efficient too. The Doo 850 is supposed to be good for 10K+ and the Cat 600 CTEC so far seems bulletproof too. The Poo 800 even seems to be holding together...

I'd like to have a 15 k investment that was also summer riding convertable with all the necessary parts included and engineered from the ground up.

Clutching that works and a windshield that can actually keep you from freezing. Those two both need the tweeking.
New sleds are dang expensive. It makes no sense to fix those issues right out of the box.

I'm just very thankful for all the improvements, and innovations that came in just the last 25 years!!! Many more were prior to that also. But it seems as the last 25 years really picked up the pace with the birth of high tech coming on as it did.

Hate to say it or see it but I'm afraid Ezra is correct. It may take quite a while but virtual reality will probably replace most high risk activities. Sad.

I don't think it will but a yr or 2 before switchable ABS will become a option and prob standard on the rental lines. it is really not much extra cash on the bikes now
