That is a classic!

Before I lived here, I would schedule one 6 day ride. It was always around this time of the year and always here in the Keweenaw. We rented sleds. Some years the snow was epic, some not so good, but I do not ever remember being disappointed we made the trip.

Fun happens all by itself. Just let it happen.

Being on a rental can turn it up a notch, after all, they do come with a race number already on them.

8" of unpredicted snow down here in SE WI totally MISSED by the so called weather experts got me in a great mood today.
Weather hyping whores couldn't even come up for air....LOL
Going to give this year so far a participation trophy and encourage it to keep sticking it to the experts.

Looks like if you're willing to trailer your sled to the snow it hasn't been too bad. For those of us who like to go from home, especially when you live on a trail, and you don't live within lake effect snow, it's been a bad year. So far. Still have two months to go.

season here has been terrible, trails were open and had ride-able snow maybe 1 day so far this season, had 20+ days in the below zero temps, and NO snow, then warmed up to mid 50's rain, and NO snow, then snowed, and two days later rain and 50's again, every time it gets cold, NO snow, and then warms up it seems
winters just SUCK anymore here , this make yr 3 with almost zero snow , and trails not even being open in 1 of the 3 yrs and only open 5 days last yr, and 1 day this yr so far, a whopping 6 days of trails being ride able in 3 yrs.
I'm sure Glad I bought another sled in November LOL they at least look fats sitting still and sound good when I start them HAHA!

Double F. 0 miles ridden and just canceled trip to Eagle River this week because of the warm up Friday. Will try again in 2 weeks. Getting more frustrated each season.

There is no reason you shouldve canceled your trip for this weekend. One 40 day for a high wont do anything, I rode 400 miles last weekend based out of Phelps and that was 40 for both days AND derby weekend. AND THEY JUST GOT 10 INCHES! Im really confused with why you canceled. Call back and go!

modern sleds make snowmobiling 99% better even with bumps than even 10-15 years ago.

try taking some of these modern UP 2-3' whoops on a 79 exciter 440 or 94 xlt special. now you are partying.

I'm not Interested in driving all that way to be in 40 degree temps the first day and watch the trails
Get trashed. What do we do the next day on dirt? I'll wait two weeks and cross my fingers.

get real bro..what is it another 2 hours to iron river? where trails are perfect right now?..you have to be willing to be able

Too hot. Too cold. Too sunny. Too cloudy. Too dark. The game is on. My granddaughter's tooth fell out. Have to get my taxes done. My foot hurts. Too much traffic. Not groomed to perfection. Trails too tight. Don't like Corridor running. Need new carbides. Might wear out my new carbides. Hate that one Bar. Had a bad Cheeseburger. Never going back. Trail passes cost too much. Gas costs too much. Drinks are watered down. Got some bad gas there 7 years ago. No paper towels in the paper towel dispenser. Holes too small in the pepper shakers -no pepper would come out - no way am I ever going back there. God you guys. Did you buy these things to ride or did you buy them to bitch?

thata fkn hilarious grub..how bout it..its a b*chfest

Rode the best trails for the season for me yesterday - would grade those overall of 8.5-9.0. Few spots that were in the 6 range. Few in the 10 range. And this was all within WI! 225 miles of smiles!

Just got back from a u.p.trip that I would again rate a C maybe B-
Started off bad friday with the bridge closure so had to scramble for a room down in Alanson as anything closer was booked up. Got across early saturday and still managed 187 miles for the day. The trails were all in all good with spots that were great and some spots that were not so great. There was so much traffic that they were wooped out by mid day and groomers didnt go out till that night when it cooled down. We did manage to get a fresh ribbon for about a third of the trip back so that helped. Glad I mage the trip and now have about 600 miles for the season. Hoping for the weather to cooperate and give us a great february and march to finish out the season

The sport would be closer to bull riding than partying.

Love your point - back 15 years ago, a 100-150 mile ride was pretty big. Now we don't even talk a big ride unless we are above 250 miles.
