SXS question???

Agree, X2 ezra!!! AC was the only, and is the only way for Yami to stay in the sled business. Without AC, their cooked. It's pretty much a known fact Yami does not have the "want" to be totally in sled production business. Bad deal for the Yamaha faithful, for sure. Imo, the AC/TCat is set up better than the Yami S/W out of the box. Even the Apex was a "shoehorn" sled/engine combination, with a "built in weight penalty", as a RPM gear reduction was needed. So as, power steering also needed. I'm no Textron fan, as I remember when they owned Poo. Bad deal for sure. But it appears to me they are going in the right direction of a very strong power sport/vehicle producer. That's a good deal for the consumer involved.

How ironic that you bring this discussion Abe, I just sold my 18 850 Rene Sunday to a gent that owns four other sleds including a Sidewinder. He told many a story of how he loves to give his buddies by the cabin in Pickerel, WI a head start and he catches up and blows by, he was grinning ear to ear. He bought my sled so he could do some real riding off the lake and not feel like he was "bull-dozed" at the end of the day. Anyway, he also has a Doo 1200 and a 900 and is letting those go next winter as he is done with heavy sleds.
For what it's worth, he stated he wanted to spring-order a 19 Doo 900 Turbo in Oshkosh, WI and the Dealer stated nobody was ordering them so that left him tentative and back way from the order.
Just 2 cents from last weekend.

I rode with a S/W in Canada last year. He was always glad to stop for a break, and beat down at the end of the day. That thing is bad fast where you can use it, but the handling of it was a load. On fast running he would leave me, but on the tighter stuff he fell behind fast. The bulldozed is a good expression. His fuel economy was very poor imo. Its speed was impressive if that's all you want. I think the AC T/C is a much better set up sled out of the box. Had the guys out yesterday with the Honda Pioneer replacing a tile line. They like the auto/trans, cab sucks big time, and overall less impressed than thought. They still seem to like the Poo Rangers the best. They are looking into the Textrons. Perhaps one of those will be the next test. A good cab is important to them.

Ezra, what happened to the trans in your trail? Those are TEAM Ind. transaxles and I have not seen one fail yet, we have guys with over 6k miles on the trails/sports with zero failures in the trans and only one motor rebuild do to lack of maintenance. Just curious to know what happened and why taking so long, I'd think a new trans assy. would be put in with only 100 miles.

We signed up with Bad Boy before Textron purchased AC, it's a tough unit top to bottom. They did not throw the Stamped/havoc together over night, was several years in the making. As for the Textron (Weber) motors, so far also very impressive, the only time I've used low range was when towing a larger 4 seat UTV uphill. We have 3 Stampedes in our rental fleet and the only break down we had all of last year was a guy that put it under water, that's enough proof to make me a believer. Yes they're heavier than most...because if you compare them with others, they're far more heavy duty, maybe over kill in areas. I've only been on one good ride with the Havoc X and it did not disappoint, awesome ride, never ending power, 72mph top end and does not struggle to get there. I hope they keep their foot on the gas because I like what I'm seeing. And the Wildcat XX is simply put...BADASS!

I guess a bearing went out on some shaft. had lots of shavings in the fluid the shifter fork had deep rub marks . sounds like they did new bearing and some gears and a fork . I don't know I still do not have it. 2 f ing mo. they have had my M for 30 days and still can't get the insurance Corp a estimate so they can total it and I can swoop up a good spring deal lol.
yeah dealer told me at first that he
thought it would get new tranny . then attempted to tell me cat wanted me to cover labor I laughed in his face I droped it off when it had 2 weeks of warranty left and only 100 mi . now they are saying they are just fixing tranny guess some cat guy came to look at it once apart. they are thinking bad bearing from the word go.
I called and told them first ride it made a grinding some times on deceleration. they said oh the cats do that it is the clutch. I was like um no but ok I will drive it till it blowes.
then I recorded it on my phone brought phone in so they could here.then they are like oh you need to stop driving it . yeah no real confadance in this big northern metro burbs cat Yamaha kymco agusta service department. wife bought it cuz it was the cute one . yes that was her criteria going in lol

We bought a new Polaris Ranger in January. In February I was installing the tracks and noticed a oil drip off the engine case. Returned it to the dealer the next day and Polaris says, we are not messing with fixing this we are putting a new motor in it. Few days later had the unit back.
