Nothing, which is why it is in the miscellaneous section.

"No posts with Religious or Political viewpoints. I am religious and political too, but these are two topics almost certain to offend, so it’s just best to avoid them in this forum."

Is this not political?

I was under the impression that the miscellaneous section was for "(weather, outdoor recreation, the northwoods)"
It seems like gun law stuff would be best suited for the off-topic section?

Who cares though, carry on.

ILLINOIS GUN BAN INTRODUCED: Any semi-auto rifle, pistol that can accept 10+ rd. magazine plus most semi-auto shotguns.

Plenty of nice carry guns that are 7+1.

Plenty of nice carry guns that are 7+1.

But they can accept a 10+ mag. So depending on how they want to interpret the law this could ban all semi autos.

I hope this is not too political but my take on this is that common sense gun laws make sense and anyone who want to buy a gun should have to pass a proficiency and safety test similar to going through driver training before you can get a drivers' license. This, although, won't help those to don't abide by the laws, but still makes sense to me. Also, as with any problem, you have to address the root cause of the problem before you can begin to fix it. In business, if we have a problem, to fix it, we have to address to root cause to fix it. With crimes involving guns, to me, the root cause is not an inanimate piece of metal. The gun doesn't seem to be the root cause, but rather a tool to carry out the crime. The root cause is much more complex and difficult to tackle and it's amazing to me that I rarely hear ANY politician mention the root cause of those who commit crimes with guns. It's difficult and complex, but unless we direct our focus at the root cause, all the gun laws and restrictions in the world won't do much to reduce crimes using guns. Again, I'm trying to keep politics out of this and trying to instill some basic common sense.

The problem is in Chicago they do not enforce the laws when you have people that have 5 gun possession crimes but still on the street. I gun crime should be an automatic 10 years read about the Orland Park shooting 20 year old on parole for armed robbery out in 2 years kills a high school kid.

The law abiding gun owners are not the ppl committing crimes with guns, right?

It is the thuglife hood rats with illegal weapons that are the statistical gun problem.

The liberal leftist politicians use the gun crime stats to condemn all guns. The news media never discerns between illegally possessed weapons when reporting the news which is just a prop for the liberal left wing extremist who want to disarm Americans.
