Rumored - Arctic Cat has been bought

The catalyst 2s is definitely the payoff for the AC acquisition and will continue that’s a no brainer and I have no idea why Textron didn’t have faith in it or care. My question is does the Thunder kitty continue for now? Imo it does as low hanging fruit especially since Yamaha is gone. Future AC 4s development is unknown as no current 4s engine that I know of would take advantage of the low center of gravity of the catalyst platform. Expectations of some big tech 2s or 4s AC release for 2026 is unrealistic imo.
just like assuming a sale was going to happen over night as people wondered this whole time and how Cat was done, I'm not expecting anything really "NEW" for 2026, and it wont mean the company has no intent or Arctic Cat isn't back I 100% agree with katden4's statement and will anxiously await to see whats next and not worry about whats coming or not coming and will no longer focus on the Textron reign of the brand

Some Argo money coming in for sure but 2 separate companies probably have to stand on their own profitability is my thinking.

Thunder cat and SW definitely low hanging fruit for AC and Yamaha
Yep, wouldn't take much to modernize that chassis a bit and it will be great for the high mileage Ontario/Quebec riders for years to go.

What was clear to me and I stated before is that Textron was done with Cat how they dispersed AC was the unanswered question. Cat survives thru Argo but what exactly the means needs definition. Hopefully dirt and snow survives but it will be a hard start to rebuild consumer confidence in products and health of the company. Hopefully we will know more soon so recovery can get started.

They released the full 2026 lineup an hour ago. The new EXT model with power steering looks sweet
I totally agree with you on this one Indy. They are talking c&a skis from factory more aggressive turning ratio with power steering. This sled has me very intrigued. If I didn't buy the 2 Blizzards in January I would be thinking about putting my money down. Power steering does 2 things one obviously easier steering but the other benefit is how it eats up a lot of the feedback through the bars. I will be waiting to hear how this sled actually works. Also agree Indy pretty sharp looking sled but I guess that's a drawing so can't wait to see the real thing. Personally haven't been a cat guy but if this works as good as I think maybe time to try one.

one of the main concerns I had when I bought my Catalyst was the seat as I was essentially going from a couch to a unicycle seat and honestly I like the smaller seat better than I did the couch.
I sat on one in the dealership. I’m skeptical on the seat. Supposedly they soften up and the 25s were softer than the 24s

We have a 24 and two 25 versions along with a couple of Procross trail sleds that I rode last season.
The Catalyst sleds all have similar mileage around 3,700-4k.
The 24 seat seemed stiff until getting some miles. The 25 seats felt good until getting some miles and then it started to feel too soft. In the end, I like the 24 seat more after wearing in the foam. One caveat is super cold temps. The 24 still starts out the day feeling stiff.
The Procross seats are couches. We joke about it a lot. They feel comfortable like a couch. They let you move like getting around on a couch.

I'll add one comment about chassis difference that I don't see mentioned often. All the sleds have tall windshields. The Catalyst is a much warmer sled. It seems hard to believe when you look at the sleds. It's a combination of factors. The narrow seat lets you tuck in a bit more, the windshield design on Catalyst fills in the gap between lower windshield and body panels. On super cold days the 25 Catalyst sleds are the first choice. Medium temp days go to the 24 for banging around. The Procross sleds still get miles, but often on warmer cruising days. They feel like cruisers and act like it too. The steering ratio is noticeable and a bit more of a workout in twisties and trash. The extra effort helps keep you warmer when it is cold and riding in junk.

It's interesting how the sleds all have different characteristics that work best for different situations. After awhile we just get used the the variations and ride.

They came out with more than most expected. Loss another 7+ lbs on the mountain sleds, brought back the 4s and also the EXT with 2s and power assisted steering. Good for them! I think this was the most exciting line up in a long time.

Cat was purchased by a private investor group as such, Cat is on their own with Brad Darling overseeing the operations again. Nice to see.
