I just sent another message to the site platform XenForo asking them for some assistance. I really don't like the feeling of helplessness, to me it is apparent that this issue lies within the Administrator of the site & or its appointees of which I have no clue who to turn to regarding this. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed & hope for the best.🤞

I would be completely shocked if Nora would be willing to sell the JohnDee site, personally I highly doubt it and do not blame her as it was his site, his style and her memory of him and it. I hope its here to stay just as it is, and hope whatever hiccups or whatever it may be gets resolved and the site lives on.

I know that’s a tuff situation for you Gary to know what to do without direction or at least know you have been heard regarding site concerns whatever the final decision maybe. You do your job well everyday and day to day imo! I appreciate all that you do and have taken the long view of the continued success of the Dee site. I’m a retired corporate guy and and understand it’s necessary to communicate a defined current and future vision to the rank and file to give them purpose as a strong spoke in the corporate wheel. Imo change is constant and necessary to be successful or any business will shrink and no longer be relevant if quality is unacceptable. Dee site has severe quality problems and concerns all end up in a black hole where no one knows anything. This has to change very soon or the site will die a slow death. Hopefully our concerns will be addressed by whoever is incharge.

Regardless of the outcome, we've made a lot of friends and had some great memories along the way. Make A Wish, years ago, introduced us to Skiroule's Restoration Skills which continues today. Many others including Big Vin in Nashville, Tracker out there somewhere in search of Big Foot, Snobuilder, the Bear Man, and Indy 500 is all grown up now with his own family. Of course we'd have to include John Dee, as he made it possible for all this to happen. I still miss his Sunday Night Journals, what a great way to end the weekend!

So, we'll see where things go, everything changes, always has, always will.
There's a writer that I'm fond of that's been quoted as saying,
"Memories Make Us Rich"
and I think that is fitting for all those that have crossed our path on JohnDee.com​

Gary, Thanks for all you do, but, I'm glad today that you didn't say "Good Night!" There's a lot of people on here that would like to see this site continue to operate, as much as the big question is how I guess. At least it's been up for 2 days straight now, maybe that's a sign?

Just reading the thread... so is the issue really more that someone needs to have access (and ability) to access the hosting account and "fix" issues from time to time? What kind of traffic does the site still support? I see there is forum traffic but the website itself is stale content. Just asking as I am soon to retire from that 'world of IT' and may have time to help if it's sustainable.

Hey great. Hopefully someone can get you some answers. You probably already saw this, but checking under the members tab it looks like there are about 132 visitors on the Discussion Board right now. 11 are members, the rest are guests, but a lot of those are also robots. I don't really know what you are asking or if that helps. Thanks.

Experiencing complete ad blockages on iPhone doesn’t matter which search engine it’s getting extremely difficult to access the site even when it is open🤷‍♂️

I didn't try over the weekend, but tried on Mon and yesterday to log on, without success. Each time this occurs I wonder if the site finally expired. Seems it's on life support and we have no idea what the answers are. Ironically, I had another member message me on here last Fri. Hadn't talked to him in a couple of years and this was the only way he knew to contact me. Another example of how much of a shame it would be if the site was discontinued. Seems there are plenty of us here that would like to see it continue. Just baffles me why there's no answers or response to our questions. And now it seems there may be some that are willing to help IT wise, if we can just get ahold of someone in the know about the site.

The DDG works perfect on my iPhone. You just need to make sure you browse through the app.
DDG app on my phone and I just go through that app instead of google.

If I use google I get googled..lol

DDG was worse than Google on my iPhone had to abandon DDG. I have no idea why????

About the forum index itself, look at the list & see the last post date on each. Some are several years back. For example, Motorcycle, Hunting, Help Wanted... No activity.
In my opinion, delete these. Downsize, shorten the list.

I think you need to monkey with it, your phone is probably remembering how you browsed the site previously or your default browser didn't change.
Did you install the DDG app on your phone?
