Absolutely, I sure hope you can disable it. I hate it in my Acadia, shut it off every time I drive it.OK, I'll go ahead and ask, "why do I need Start and Stop on a snowmobile?" I'm pretty good at doing both but thought I should ask.![]()

You might be right but before writing it off might be best to try it. Sooo many people thought it was stupid on an ATV and those same people now say they wouldn’t buy one without it. But I realize the 2 stroke side of it might be legitEPS on 2s.... sorry but don't get it, especially on Catalyst chassis, 4s absolutely but I would never own a 4s so no excitement on EPS
Stop start on snowmobile?.... give me a break
havent looked yet but understand the ElTigre is back, liked how my 17 eltigre looked should look bad a** on Catalyst chassis
I am old enough to have been around when sleds were only pull start and darn, sometimes you could give yourself a heart attack. Now, stop/start..OK, I'll go ahead and ask, "why do I need Start and Stop on a snowmobile?" I'm pretty good at doing both but thought I should ask.![]()
It is easy to turn off and it stays off permanentlyAbsolutely, I sure hope you can disable it. I hate it in my Acadia, shut it off every time I drive it.
Dumbest thing in a long time.OK, I'll go ahead and ask, "why do I need Start and Stop on a snowmobile?" I'm pretty good at doing both but thought I should ask.![]()
Wish I could do that on my p/u. I hate that start/stop.It is easy to turn off and it stays off permanently
if its anything like the Ram or GM tech get ready for bent valves and broken pistonsOK, I'll go ahead and ask, "why do I need Start and Stop on a snowmobile?" I'm pretty good at doing both but thought I should ask.![]()
This... The polaris 650 is an amazng sled and one that I am seriously considering. Ski doo could have matched or beat polaris in that market. I have a ski doo 850 mxz xrs, great sled and no complaints. But, I can rip a 650 in the trails almost as fast as my 850 ski doo, although the ski doo throttle response is just better. I could care less of top end lake racing, my grandma can ride fast in a straight line....who cant do that. But, I can pick up a lightly used 650 for $11,000 instead of the steep xrs price. And, although polaris electric start sounds like a kindergartner with marbels made it, it still has a pull start unlike my ski doo...and yeah, that was a lot of fun wrapping the cord around the clutch at Omars (yeah i use old names) in 40 MPH wind and cold. The 650 market is where its at cause lets be serious, 98% of all seldders dont come close to maximizing the power and potential of their sleds....more show, than go...Guess I will wait again til next year.To be fair the new 600rr is a lot more than just auto stop/start. It is new pistons/cylinders, new injectors, new pipe, supposed to have more low end torque. And 5+ horsepower. I feel like they missed the boat on what could’ve been… with a 670 that was 10+ horsepower increase over the previous platform, but oh well, I wasn’t ready to buy this year anyways. Will probably aim to buy leftovers every few years from here on out.
I'll have to watch this on my big screen when I get home, LOL.Definitely like '27 Artic Cats in all white!
people were speculating about how Cat was going to or should come out with a 658 to compete, some say Cat should have come out with 700 but I think the line up would be too crowded with models doing that, IMO Cats 600 motor is pretty impressive, but have heard a lot about the 650 Polaris, Who knows maybe we will see eventually a 658 HO in Cats line up, but for now Polaris will remain the stand alone and with good reviews on the 650This... IMO...i think that sled is going to do well for Cat, Jag was known for reliability, affordability, great mileage, I agree nice to see it back in line upOk, I just went on the AC website. Jag is back! Wow, I have had a LOT of jags over the years. They bring back so many memories. As a budget rider, I cant afford new. I run a 2014 7000 now which I like. However, for $10k (not a bargain mind you), I could really be interested in this. Looks like the blast platform. Never rode one but they look fun.
I admit I dont follow 4s at all as I have no interest but when I saw Ctech-4 I thought maybe they had their own 4s engine, wonder how long that marriage will continue? I am glad to see still focus on 2s engines, I have a catalyst and I don't see how in the world they could put a 4s engine in that chassis. I also don't get the problem with rear skid either, As far as Darling I truly believe he will resurrect the company and the brand, pretty impressive line up this year, will likely see more innovation next year. IMO... pretty impressive going from what everyone was saying " the writing is on the wall " and " Cat is done " to this in less than 2 years. And again the speech Darling gives on release video isn't a bunch of corporate bs or smoke, it speaks commitment. The tipped up rail cat put on the xf is something people have been wanting and it looks pretty cool. On the dealer presentation it looks like they updated some of the design issues people have been complaining about, so they are working out some of the textron bugs. I don't get the fuss over the rear skid but Brad Darling said that was in development. Sure was nice to have a presentation by sled people instead of whomever textron assigned to cat this week. Would love to see them do something like doo's ace 900 in some version of the newer chassis. Good to see the yamaha engines continuing. I think they could update that chassis a bit for the 4 stroke and stay competitive.
I like that doo made some improvements to the 600. I didn't see anything new from Poo.
I'm due for another sled. Might be another season away. Not sure what direction I'll go.
Darren, I wanted to get you to try my sled when we rode, not that I think I will convert you LOL but just wanted you to feel it as I think you would be truly impressed, will have to do next season. I'm not against power steering as you know I have that Crosstour which is 4s, all I had to do was drive it around root cellar parking lot and was enough to convince me EPS is needed on 4s sleds, but you know my stance on 4s sleds...not for me. 2s sleds especially the Catalyst chassis I just don't feel the need. Its something new, for some people maybe its needed, for others...they just have to have the latest and greatest. I wont deny there are places for it, just not for me or the Catalyst IMO. Next year you will have to get on mine, Ken already raving about riding your area again next year LOLYou might be right but before writing it off might be best to try it. No real changes for Poo. To highlight what they did, they basically gave more options to different models to allow people to not have to buy a certain model to get a certain option. The tipped up rail cat put on the xf is something people have been wanting and it looks pretty cool. From what I’ve read from the catalyst guys, they’re truly 50/50 on whether they like it on a 2 stroke sled or not. There’s been a number of guys to trade their ext's in because they didn’t like how squirly it got in whooped out sections because the front end is so light and couldn’t react as fast as needed.Darren, I wanted to get you to try my sled when we rode, not that I think I will convert you LOL but just wanted you to feel it as I think you would be truly impressed, will have to do next season. Indy, I am too still trying to dial in my ski pressure, I didn't want to but I am going to pull on my limiter straps as I don't want to let out any more on front shock in rear suspension nor do I want to crank on front springs any more either, on the throttle in a corner I wont deny with exception to hard set grooms the front end will get squirrely, its just a whole different, different feeling chassis and IMO with center of gravity the way they have it, for me its just a little different dialing it in,From what I’ve read from the catalyst guys, they’re truly 50/50 on whether they like it on a 2 stroke sled or not. Well, yamaha always claimed to be an "engine" company or so some said. Why not supply engines to AC. Good for both. however I wouldnt be surprised if they move away from that at some point.I admit I dont follow 4s at all as I have no interest but when I saw Ctech-4 I thought maybe they had their own 4s engine, wonder how long that marriage will continue?
