Yes, we know this year sucked...but look at the difference from last year to this year..these pictures were a year ago on this date, and today..ice almost all the way off Lake Nokomis (last year it took until early May)

That can be true...however 2022-23 was a moderate La Nina, and here in northern Wisconsin it was a really good season...though we did start a week later than we had planned (new years weekend we opened)

They actually threw in the towel before we did....and were one of the reasons we decided it's over....now things can certainly change...but as you said...looking at the long range forecast....there is no way in hell we are gonna open......However as everybody knows we always get snow in March...

Well....it's done.....I was informed by our club president that even if we get hammered with a big snow fall...WE WILL NOT BE OPENING THE TRAILS THIS YEAR....apparently a couple of clubs to our north have stated that they will NOT be opening, no matter what happens....and that pretty much does...

welp...once again we in northern Wisconsin are getting missed by the next system....a short blast of colder air the end of the week, which could give some rideable snow to the snowbelt areas to the north (Ironwood/Hurley).....then back into the 40s with the possibility of RAIN early to mid next...

5 to 6 inches in the Nokomis area...was expecting an inch or two...but got hit with the heavier bands for once..it's that good heavy, wet stuff too....probably won't last past the weekend...but at least I can spin around my neighborhood a bit tonight

Well....we got a surprise over night...woke up to 5 to 6 inches of wet snow in the Nokomis area....was only expecting an inch or two....nothing is open, and the lakes suck...coulda used this a month ago...but it's something...I can at least spin around my yard after work tonight

It's looking less, and less likely that trails will open....that being said...if we get rideable snow...they will open if the county gives the green light...land owner easements do not end until March 31st at midnight.....realistically...another stretch of warm weather would be very bad..some...

NOPE...not looking good at all....the closer we get to March the less likely that will happen.....it's alot of work to put that stuff up, only to remove it a couple of weeks later.

Same here...Ice starting to deteriorate...wet, slushy on top...not much snow left.

Yep...awful weather...absolutely nothing in the long range forecast that would give us any hope of opening trails here the next 10 to 14 days.
