Off trail riding on the local news

I do believe that his point was young Ricky Racers [who needed to be carded] were heavily drinking and being inconsiderate. Politeness will get you farther.

Just shy of 100 down the straits. Never clocked them but was told that. A surprise to me was that the lap difference between vintage & pro was .5/sec! Those old sleds are fast.

Few, but there were some 2-300 from pits. And, yes, I saw your remarks about "back in the day." There used to be trailers or motor homes parked all the way around to turn 3. Only open spots now are at turn 4 and down the front straightaway and I'm going to say there were approximately...

    WCDC

Just thought I'd post this. Both the Vintage and WC were a huge success this year. Biggest crowds I've seen in years. The pic is from Sunday's final and I have to say that Friday Night Thunder was even more packed. Corporate suites and Hot Seats were sold out. Both weeks were televised...

Off trail riding on the local news

I'm prob the one you are referring to [no harm]. I didn't say all, but I have seen enough deep lugs tear up a trail. All young throttle jockeys showing off. Guys like that have no respect and yes, I wouldn't mind seeing those off the trail, at least 2" and under. I've also seen others...

Nothing wrong with long tracks [of corse,137-144' are no long considered long tracks like in my day]. IMHO it's the deep lugs. Wouldn't bother me at all if they restricted the depth of lugs. Keep it 2" and under. I've seen too many deep lugs ruin a trail.

    A Necessary Evil?

Thank you. I am blessed but can't take credit for the pic. It's on WCDC Facebook and just shared it. There are lots of great pics and race videos on the site,---check it out. I even made it into one of the pics but you cant see my face. I'm down on the track for the ceremonies and in the...

    A Necessary Evil?

Tks. I'm the Track Chaplin [10th year] and yes all of us were really excited on the turnout. Trying hard to get back to what it was in the 90's. First year in over 2 decades that all 4 mfgs were on the track for the WC. Also, all 4 mfgs are supporting. Could be a great sign for the future...

    Thawing out a sled?

If you jerry-rig a tarp over the sled/s, it will speed the process and if the heater is a large one, it won't take long.

    A Necessary Evil?

For clarification-----Should have worded better. 942 entries for Vintage, don't have numbers on WC, but the crowds were very big. Not like the 90's but we were sold out on Hot Seats and Corporate Suites. The hill on Friday and Sunday were extremely well attended. Nice to see a big crowd...

    A Necessary Evil?

Most iof not all groomers are volunteers. Heck, people don't even want to work for a paycheck these days, how are you going to get volunteers to groom 24/7? We are having record crowds at the World Championship Derby and have been short both weekends for volunteers. Mose people attending...

I think there is/used to be a trail that ends at the casino from Ironwood.
