I don't know what they sell at the bar in Mass City, but for frozen pizza it's really good. Of course I'm normally in the best possible mood when I'm up there, either just got done snowmobiling for the day or am ready to ride the next day....
I remember the snowgoer vacation guide was the best source available. That's how we ended up taking our first trip to the Keeweenaw. Found an ad for the northgate motel. I think it's called trailside lodge now?
There's usually an update on the snowtracks site too. Unfortunate how quickly the conditions seem to be deteriorating. I should have taken my kids up after Christmas or over MLK day, but President's day worked best for our schedules...
Glad to hear things were good this past week. With the rain coming in and then the snow later in the week, I think it's likely we won't go up this coming weekend. Family who lives up in that area year-round (north of ER) said they've never seen as many sleds out as they have this season, and...
Long term forecast has me nervous. Taking the kids up President's Day weekend. A bit north of Eagle River. With the kids we mostly ride private land around the lake our relatives are on up there so we don't need a ton of snow, but I don't like all these high 30's!
Cat seems to get the under brand's cheerleaders' undies in a bunch for some reason.
I think most would agree cat has fallen behind the past 3 or 4 years (at least). Hopefully this sled gets them some market share back so that they can have funds to continue to invest. Having 2 manufacturers...
Are these better to buy in person since they have different sized pads or something that should be fitted to your head? Thought I remember seeing that before.
Two bad games. Well the 2nd one was good but some of the calls were insane down the stretch.
First time I watched pro football all year and I see why I didn't miss it.
We saw 3 cars stuck on trail last week in the UP. First was a couple teenagers and an honest mistake, just off a 4 way intersection. Kid called his buddy's dad who was out there with a truck and some shovels to try to get it out. We helped get that one out.
Second was a Subaru way the heck off...
We rode all 3 of the trails that go up to Big Bay over the past week. All were in incredible shape, at least once you get a bit away from Lanse. It's my favorite part of the UP and favorite trails too.
The one exception is on the furthest west trail, there were a group of college kids stuck on...
Sure seems like it. Can't find anyone complaining about it. I've been wearing a cheaper CKX for a few seasons. Been a good helmet, but it doesn't have the moisture elimination like the Mission. If it's on the warmer side I don't use the neck guard and moisture goes out that way. But if it's...
Just seems to me the pass is a total bargain for people who ride a lot but expensive for someone who just rides up there a couple days. I definitely pinch my pennies to ride so not a snob by any means.
If it was up to me, I'd make the seasonal pass $100, with the extra money going towards easements and somehow enforcement of stopping some of the off trail riding, and then add a weekly pass for $25.
