    New truck options

I would try to stick to a half ton. HD gas trucks are too thirsty IMO. The only time they get decent MPG is if conditions are optimal. I had a 6.4 2500 mileage was great as long as you were on a highway in nice weather. Add in cold weather, driving into the wind, stop and go traffic or pulling a...

    Cargo van shelving recommendations

Adrian Steel, Weatherguard ,Knapheide and Reading are all good brands. Websites like Elitetruck.com is a good one to look at and price check against a local company. Not sure if you are budgeting new or used but a quick Marketplace search has a ton of hits, especially if you are close to a big...

    Wisconsin Gov. Evers announces support

If you're in any kind of business you should be setting yourself up for some slow times. The PPP loan deal still makes me want to puke thinking about some of the people that received money.

    Cargo van shelving recommendations

I see nice used Adrian Steel and Weatherguard units on Marketplace and Craigslist all the time, both are good brands. The GM cargo vans have been the same for years so plenty of them on the used market. New prices are crazy. The steel units can drive some people crazy from the noise so some...

We need to be reminded $$$

last weekend we were in a small college town on a Sunday for a swim meet. I went to a chain sandwich shop to get the kids lunch. Two people were working and running behind, one of the employees kept apologizing to customers and said they were short staffed, The employees were both middle aged...

    Refrigerators

Consider yourself lucky that you sold the fridge with the house. By now the new owners are probably fighting water in the crisping drawer, water on the floor, freezing food in the back, or unsafe food temps like other Samsung customers.

How many folks are taking the money they are not spending and saving for a side by side??

I have had 2 of them now and sold them do to lack of interest. Not very fun IMO, not many challenging trails or riding spots in the midwest. There are fun areas but most of them are illegal and not talked about much. DNR eventually puts down gravel if things get to be too much fun. The nicer...

    Refrigerators

this is probably the way to go. I still have my budget fridge from 2004 that was moved to garage use around 2010 that is still going. We are now on our 4th "nice fridge" and have had nothing but problems. The worst was Samsung. We are now having issues on a Whirlpool that was bought in 2022 that...

    Refrigerators

Stay far away from Samsung and LG.... also stay away from anything where the ice maker container is in the door. After years of crap washers and dryers I bit the bullet last year and bought Speed queens. When the time comes to buy a new fridge I will be doing research on a higher end brand.

looking at ski doos, need advise

Don't forget the process to change the junk secondary rollers on the Doo's as well. hard to believe they have not made that easier over the years

I believe the 2011 Tsunami was also a big setback for a ton of Japanese companies. Many companies are still re building in land and restructuring.

The 800 in the Axys was a big improvement over the 800 in the Pro Ride. I think they made a few more improvements to cooling in 2018. I put 5500 trouble free miles on a 2016, still had 120 psi when I sold it. Fun sleds

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

My wife wants to upgrade so I was looking at dealer inventory yesterday, dealers definitely have a good amount of stock. Not good for them.

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

Ironically, I do believe 2021 was when the southern WI counties had a period of decent snow and trails being open like now. looking at the forecast we will not be open as long as we were in 2021, still weird though. That was the first time in years I never took a trip north riding

    Catalyst ride reports

I saw a few on the trail today, they are a sharp looking sled. I hope they sell well, with Yamaha being gone soon we need Cat to do well. As far as sleds on the trail one thing I love about southern WI being open is some of the older Iron that is out. Saw some beautiful and well kept looking...

looking at ski doos, need advise

If you don't ride much and it sits around I would be looking for a early model Ski Doo 1200 myself. I'm always on the lookout for one for a spare or loaner, Or like Saber said and look for a Apex

Hanksters in Janesville is doing scheduled demo rides on the Catalyst this week. I'm guessing they let you take one on the trail (dealer is on the trail)

Cost and time to replace new entry door

Caulk up to the brick mold brings back some bad memories. I did two entry doors on a house a few years ago and I had a hour each in getting the caulk off the aluminum siding to prep to re caulk, whatever brand it was from the 90's that they used was like nothing i ever had to remove. Just one of...

    Storm Central for Tuesday

I'm looking out at wet road, driveway and a yard that is half grass half snow in Rock County, I knew it was going to be a flop when the news said it was going to be 33 degrees out. ground is just too warm. Hopefully changes soon.

Cost and time to replace new entry door

A door from 2000 you could probably get away with just changing the slab (door) and leave the frame if the frame and sill are in good shape. fYI most of the doors from menards are not pre mortised for the latch, Probably the only thing keeping it from being a DIY job for someone with no...
