saw alot of trucks and trailer heading north on hwy 51 yesterday and today....it's unfortunate for us here...I fear another late start/no start is going to close alot of these smaller businesses (they limped through last year)...it's a major ouch for our economy here in the Northwoods

AND I'm sure you guys have everybody and their uncle riding there this weekend.....and they will ride in the rain, and burn the trails down to the mud.

UPDATE...we have light mist...been misting on and off since last night...temps stayed in the 30's over night....lakes look like crap already, with water and slush on top of the ice...we were seeing 8 to 10 inches of ice on most area lakes...not sure how bad this will effect it...but it's ugly...

Well they whiffed on this forecast...originally 1 to 3 inches here.....then down graded this morning to a dusting to an inch....but we got NOTHING (not even a dusting)....smh

We received just over 3 inches of snow from the clipper....looks like 2-4 is the norm across the Northwoods.

and this clipper is kind of a bust...only an inch or so here in Tomahawk, and a large dry slot developing...so 1-3 at max for us here...sucks

UMMM...NO....many of our land owners do NOT want atv/utvs on their land due to the damage they do....that's why there are very few trails in Oneida that allow utvs on them, and I don't see this changing anytime soon....it's hard enough to keep trails open for snowmobiles here....We have a bunch...

best rule of thumb....NEVER trust ice fishermen.....we all know what they think 6 inches is...lol.......we are seeing 4 to7...with a couple reports of 8" in the Tomahawk area...but I'd be Leary of those numbers after how warm it was Saturday through Monday.

Yep...UGLY!!! You guys might open in Vilas...but Oneida won't...we need more ice, which I think we may have by the weekend...but we have No snow, and nothing coming (I meant in the long range forecast..we know about the clipper Thursday, but that's about it)....I highly doubt that Oneida opens...

UPDATE 12-17-24.....took a pretty good hit Sunday into Monday....really sloppy....lost most of our snow...open areas are brown...only an inch or so in my shaded back yard...very depressing ....its colder today, and the surface puddles on the lake are freezing back up...supposed to get a dusting...

Same here in Oneida....dreary, wet....YUCK!!...but there is hope...colder weather on the way, and the potential for a couple of inches of snow through Wednesday, and now looking better for an a decent Alberta Clipper for the end of the week (4 plus inches possible in areas)

Holding pattern right now....it looks awful out there...water on top of the ice, and what little snow we had melted away (I still have 1-2 inches in my back yard, but in town, it's brown and bare for the most part)....it's just a wet, dreary Monday....the good news is I had reports from local...
