I Wish It Was Dec. 10th..................

I think it has been a great winter.:) We have had snow since Thanksgiving, trails open since Christmas, good snow all season so far, no January thaw, been cold to keep the snow. It has just been a winter like I like winters to be. The cold doesn't bother me, not sick of moving snow, it's all...

    Vintage Sign

Here's mine. It is from the dealer that my dad bought his Scorpions from back in he day. Hangs in my shop now. I paid $100 for it, but I wouldn't let it go for 10 times that much.

my scratch n dent snow plow does not have skids

This is mine all set up for winter. It is a snow plowing machine. It always amazes me how much it will push. Only have trouble towards spring when we get a heavy wet snow. The first couple times I plowed this year, I tried it without the chains on. Never again. It can do so much more with the...

    Everything Grooming....the grooming thread

Tractor themselves are very reliable. It is the tracked machines that seem to be more prone to problems, especially the steel cleated tracked machines. Steel tracks cause lots of vibration, vibration with give you trouble sooner or later. This is a picture of a recent breakdown we had. All we...

    Everything Grooming....the grooming thread

We have a Tucker and a Case IH tractor. The Tucker is easy to operate, but the rear visibility sucks and it just requires to much maintenance. The tractor has excellent visibility and low maintenance, but is not for everyone to operate. Our club is due to update to a new machine, we just are...

Lost Art of Changing Your Own Oil?

I am surprised at how many people don't change their own oil anymore. I hear so many at work that don't. I had to teach a cub scout achievement one night on maintaining things, and checking a cars oil and tires was one. No one knew anything except my son, they all knew that their dad took it...

I saw on the PastyCam today that the bridge is down. That must mean they will start laying the mat in a week or so. OK, sorry, just a little humor on a dreary day.

    Rewarding Working Club Members?

Whats does your snowmobile club do to reward members that actually do the work? We have a club that is well diversified. We have many that are good at different things. We don't really need to rely on just a couple people to do all the work. We have a few that are great at fundraising, a few...

    Snowmobile Memoribilia.......

What have you got that you think is a cool memory from sledding. New or old, show us a 1 or 2 things you have. These are mine: The sign is from the dealer that my dad bought his Scorpions from, back in the day. The figurine was an Arctic Cat, I believe. My mom modified it to be a Scorpion...

    60 Degrees In July

I know I am a minority here, but I think this was a great day. My kind of temps. I cut grass with a sweatshirt on today, almost needed gloves. 60 degrees from now until the middle of November and then freezing temps and snow. I can dream.

    Lets Dream A Little..................

Lets just say you had money to burn (like PR1 ;)) and you could choose anyplace in the U.P. to live, moneys no object. Where would you choose? I would choose Eagle Harbor or the very near area. I have been to many areas of the U.P. and I think the Eagle Harbor area is just beautiful, peaceful...

    Happy fathers day!

Happy Fathers Day to all my fellow sledheads. Especially to my dad, hamburgchf, who is partially responsible for the man I am today. He is responsible for my love of snowmobiling and everything sled related. I am involved with snowmobiling like I am today because of my dad. I also know how to...

    Pictures of some Vintage Sleds

Here's my current project. It needs quite a bit of work just to ride, but with a little luck and time, it will be rideable by next season. It was/is my dads sled, he was the 2nd owner. It was originally owned by a Scorpion dealers rep. If I remember the story right, Scorpion gave him the sled as...
