    The Perfect Up North Property

That's one thing Indy didn't factor in either. Lots to this process. Since he says he wouldn't use it in the summer...who knows. Maybe Airbnb?

    The Perfect Up North Property

Yes, I have avoided this thread mostly since my scenario is a little different than most. In my case, I'm a fourth generation on our chain of lakes in northern Wisc. Florence county. it started with one house in 1947. Two brothers who married two sisters. So close family. My son is the 5th...

    The Perfect Up North Property

you are correct. But you are talking about a period of time that for real estate isn't that long ago. I know you are similar in age to my son so...still young. Appreciation in value throughout the 70's and 80's were very good. My parents bought a house in 1974 for $125,000 and sold it for a fuzz...

    The Perfect Up North Property

I was going to reply to Indy's post with a similar comment regarding investment. Real estate usually is a good investment, especially of you are able to benefit from it during the time you owned it. You would have to factor in the potential value of the investment at say age 68 (Indy's example)...

2.2 mile 12 turns City of Chicago streets....hmmmmm

seems a little weird to me. Floor it slam on the brakes. Floor it slam on the brakes. I've driven that at Autobahn near Joliet and hated it. I want to hit some speeds not stop and go. But...whatever. Not my thing.

That is exactly why I'm so glad I have my own well and water treatment system in my house. Plus a reverse osmosis for drinking. YUCK! :poop:

I bet we flush the low flow toilets more than we would with the old fashioned higher GPF toilets. You do it just so it doesn't plug up. the left doesn't have any common sense, even for their own causes.

Finally some real EV/Truck stats and...... WOW!!!

Forgot to mention the same test revealed that the trailer had to be disconnected each time the truck had to be charged due to the layout of the charging stations. That would also be very annoying

Heard a very similar study. Maybe 80 miles or so. Sorry not for me. Something to go out and get groceries. local errands. Sure. Otherwise nope.

When was the last time you checked your....

I suppose it's possible. I don't recall if the manufacturer installed a barrier when they replaced the axles. Might be worth a call to find out I suppose. I knew when they did the work but honestly can't remember.

That's an excellent point Gary. The axle on my enclosed trailer broke off after 12 years for this very reason. No barrier was in place. ended up bringing trailer to manufacturer and they replaced both axles and reconfigured the frame in this area. Thank God this happened in my driveway!

I change mine every 5 years no matter what. Have the tires road force balance too. Maybe overkill. I don't care.

When was the last time you checked your....

yesterday. Picked up a new boat trailer from a guy who didn't torque them. Only hand tightened them with a wrench. This was a new trailer. Tires weren't mounted when it was delivered to dealer. He had to install, but had no intentions to torque them to specs (110-120 lbs.). Older guy and...

    Mosquitos

I have a ton of these too. No clue what they are. I call them inch worms but not sure it’s that’s accurate. I can park a truck on driveway and within minutes there are a dozen of the weblike inchworm things all over it. Crazy
