    Storm Central for Tuesday

While I 110% agree, 10,20,30,40+ years ago, a larger amount of moms did not work. Nowadays most moms have to work full time with the cost of living, and knowing ahead of time that school is cancelled due to weather, is extremely helpful to plan someone to watch the kids.

    Trail openings

Would be nice to pick up a couple more inches in your area and to the north, so all the clubs can get out and pan! Lot of the trails east of Crandon got panned yesterday, as did Presque Isle area. Sayner, and Hurley/Mercer area has done some of their trails as well.

    Trail openings

I’m in the 7-11 range for tomorrow, and yes similar track for this weekend. Such a shame, the northwoods needs this snow… but it might hit the eastern UP pretty good

    Trail openings

Not true for the southern 1/3 of the state, they let er fly with as little as 4-6”

    Trail openings

Highly unlikely that area will be rideable as this weeks storm is missing them. If it does open I wouldn’t take anything nice on it yet. The LES guns may fire up later this week and bless Hurley with some snow, I’d have more faith 2 weeks from now.

    Michigan park and ride question

I wouldn’t doubt if I’ve parked at 100 different gas stations over the last 20 years. Generally a good idea to ask the gas station attendant, but you’ll be fine. If you’re ever hesitant, ask on here, tell us where you’re going and someone will have a suggestion.

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

Sayner barnstormers went out and panned today after 3”! Gogebic Range Trail Authority and Gogebic Area Grooming posted today they won’t send their equipment out until they have a foot on the ground. Kind of disappointed to read that, as I have ridden Vilas with 8-12” on the ground and had...

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

2-3” of fresh per the array of reports I’ve seen today. Believe they had an inch or 2 on the ground prior.

    Small Towns

Coming from someone who lives in the fox cities, I personally have worked with about 10 yoopers over the last 10 or so years who have all come down here because their quality of life was awful with little to no opportunities up there. One guy went from living in a trailer park in Baraga/L’anse...

    One of your memorable moments

One more for good measure. January 25 2021 our first day of riding for a 4 day trip to the snowy mountain range. We were staying in Laramie and planned to trailer up the pass every day to ride. The snowies had been hit with a massive storm the week before. Perfect timing right! Yeah, well...

    One of your memorable moments

Most ridiculous snow I’ve ever ridden in January 16 2016. Absolutely PUKED all day, there was a foot or less on the ground before this day. The breeze and his buds were staying in Twin Lakes, where it was snowing good but nothing crazy. He rode up trail 3 to meet me and my bud in Toivola to go...

Yep, haven’t seen any other models suggesting a push north yet. Likeliest positive scenario is it clips eastern UP making that area rideable. GFS is suggesting another large storm hitting north-central WI and the UP around Jan. 15ish but that’s a long ways out and highly unreliable, but it...
