The forms were pulled off Saturday morning, concrete work looks really good. The backfilling begins next week hopefully and the floor gets poured.

It's a crazy lot that certainly has it's challenges, the thing that keeps us here is the lake and the life it offers, just tonight we were enjoying a cocktail on the pier and our neighbors from down the lake stopped by and picked us up for a pontoon boat ride around the lake. Just what I needed...

Just finishing the walls today. In the last photo you can see the power line to my house that was not disconnected today, Concrete guy has long and high enough boom and pumper to go right over it.

Phase 2 is the house, it will raised 4 ft to level it out with garage and that will give high cielings in the basement where we need them. This is a journey that is finally starting!

I am hoping she'll come join me for a beer every once in a while, I'll ave a nice flat screen for you tube videos, maybe a couple tv's.

I am actually building the garage myself, am I concerned, maybe, roof will be 30ft span, 6/12 pitch, most likely shingles, snow doesn't slide off shingles up by me anyway.

I have 9ft walls, as my garage is built into the side of the hill I am not going to do infloor heat at this time, I may have the tubes put in to do it as a later date. Floor and door will be insulated.

On Wednesday the wheels started in motion for my new garage. I have a very complicated lot where I live and it's not just pouring a pad and building a garage. Lots of excavation had to be done first and that happened Wednesday and Thursday, Concrete forms were actually poured late this afternoon...

Gotcha, how was the bluegill fishing? We are in full summer fishing mode here. Pick your time to go out if you want walleyes, usually around 8pm to 10pm or later. Smallmouth can be had during the day, haven't been panfishing much.

You explained that very well Favoritos, I as well am not against it, but I see the implementation hitting a brick wall already. It cannot stand on it's own and if the taxpayers have to subsidize it then the burden is on us as usual which just isn't fair. We need new minds on these projects that...
