Same situation here in the Kee as well. Measured just shy of 3/4" inch of rainfall & we could use some more steady all day rain. Now it will be time to start moving leaves this weekend with some warmer temps expected. Yay!

Perhaps many are suspect of another lean snow season due to the Old Farmers Almanac "forecast" of the winter of 2024-2025 to not be as cold as usual & snowfall expected to be below average in the Upper Midwest.

Or companies will pull out of the state entirely due to excessive losses which has been the case with many carriers in recent years. I guess you have to really love it to stay there based on being able to afford to cover yourself or not.

Like Gary said, you were awfully lucky to get that home without a serious mishap. Glad it all worked out for a safe trip. Keeping the trailer clean is the key that's for sure, not to mention parked out of the grass.

You won't be past peak on Saturday, there is a lot of green mixed in yet. The color should hang on for a while, barring any huge winds. IMO, colors seem a tad muted due to lack of precip not to mention lack of cooler temps, but still a beautiful display. Enjoy!

Continued dry here with extreme fire danger. Winds have been strong & steady since yesterday drying things out further. We also have been rain starved for most of the summer but exceptionally dry for the last month +. We need a long steady soaking rain for a few days.

According to the Almanac, they are predicting (not forecasting) another below average snowfall season for the Upper Midwest with Mild & Dry conditions. I don't see it being as far below average as last year, as such, the upcoming winter should certainly be an improvement from the abysmal season...

Trail 124 currently shows as being open on the Keweenaw ATV club trail map which is current to the best of my knowledge. That does not mean that it will remain that way as logging operations can influence trail operations up here at any time. Hopefully it will continue to stay open.
